College Prowler Take
One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don’t like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is. It’s exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate “college experience.” Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.

I had the choice of going to a small private college, and I am so glad that I chose UGA instead. The trick to succeeding at a big university is to find your niche. I suggest getting involved. Whether it’s in a Greek society or in any of our hundreds of student organizations, you can meet people with similar beliefs and interests while also being exposed to tons others! |

UGA is great, and I love it. Sometimes I wish that I had chosen a smaller school, but overall, I am happy that I am here. After my first year, I realized that this was a really big school and found myself feeling more and more like a number rather than an actual student. I had a great time and love this school, but I think that you should consider the size in making your decision. |

Athens and UGA are like drugs; you get addicted to them. People love it so much when they’re here. It’s great. I can’t say enough about it. |

UGA is a lot like a big family. There are people that annoy you, and people you don’t want to see, but overall, you have an overwhelming fondness for people because you know you are all sharing something in common that you can be proud of. |

I can’t even put into words my overall experience here. I would tell anyone looking for a college to come here. UGA has been one of the best experiences of my whole life, and I have a feeling that 20 years from now, it will still probably be true. |
