Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don’t like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It’s exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate “college experience.” Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.

Too Many People

I would like a smaller student body more. The constant crowds are overwhelming.

The academics, on the other hand, are superb.

The Full College Experience

The University of Georgia covers all bases in providing the full and complete college experience. On-campus living is a requirement freshman year, and rather than complaining, most students will agree that this is one of the most fun times at school. The 4 dining halls all boast an impressive array of options, as well a convenient as-much-as-you-want setup. The athletics are rivaled by none, and there is no other school with a tradition as loved as teeing it up "between the hedges". With all of these impressive factors, as well as the superb nightlife, it becomes easy to forget how outstanding the academics are. The honors college is one of the top programs in the southeast and the business college is widely respected.

Always Been My Home

I'm from Athens so UGA has always been my home. I knew starting off in grade school that I would attend college at UGA. What makes UGA so unique is that it is in the heart of the town-it is the heart of the town. The love and pride that everyone in attendance has for the school is just amazing. It really has made my first two years enjoyable. I would choose to do it all over again at UGA in a heart beat.
