"Defining Diversity" (common responses)
A mixture of cultures, ethnicities, racial backgrounds, age distribution, political views and ideals
Differing people, perspectives, topics, ideas, etc
Tolerance of thought, ideas, people with differing viewpoints, backgrounds, and life experiences
Diversity is a range of students who have lots of applicable work experience to students who are out of undergrad

If by diversity, you mean a lot of minorities then yes, UHV is diverse. I'm not sure what the proportion is of commuters to dorm dwellers, but most of the commuters are white and most of the people living in the dorms are Black/Hispanic. I didn't mind and I went to a predominantly white school. Everyone is accepted. Everyone hangs out together for the most part but there seems to be a large gap of communication between dorm people and commuters.

hard to know as I am online student but from classes I have taken, there is great diversity of races and ethnic background.

The students that I have encountered have been accepting of all race, gender and sexual orientation. Politics and religion are subjects that are most often time not discussed in class...which is sad.

Asians?... Middle Easterns?.. South Americans? Where Are You? Although Victoria, TX is a very small town I expected to not be very diversified, there are very, and I mean VERY, few races other than Black, Hispanic, and White. The percentage of Asians would probably be something less than 1%. I loved being in a diversified school in Houston, TX and I just miss being able to turn a corner and be in a room of people of all different cultures and backgrounds.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
