University of Kansas Facilities had a new discussion posted by canesfan09

Hi, I just toured KU's campus, and it's a pretty big, busy place. There are buses running everywhere, and it is a little overwhelming at first. By the end of the day though, I mostly new how to get anywhere. It's not so hard once you get a handle one how most of the buildings are grouped together by type (Dorms, administration/union, classes, etc.) Best of luck!

Students rarely complain about the University's facilities. There is a variety of different places to eat, hang out, work out, and buy whatever you need. From getting a haircut to bowling to buying a new cell phone or the latest KU gear, the Kansas Union is one of the most popular places to be on campus. It’s at the edge of campus, so it can be a far walk from some buildings, but students generally agree it has a lot to offer.

The most popular facility on campus is the Student Recreation Fitness Center. It is considered one of the best recreation facilities in the nation and recently underwent even more renovations. The Rec has a rock-climbing wall, racquetball courts, basketball courts, an indoor track, and cardio and weight-lifting areas, just to name a few. It opens early and closes late to give students the chance to work out whenever is convenient for them. Robinson Gymnasium is older and less popular than the Rec, but it does have a pool that is available to all students after the swim team is done with practice.
