Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

KU students are pretty satisfied with the transportation around KU and Lawrence. The Student Senate passed a bill that slightly increased student fees in order to make campus buses free to anyone with an ID. Students used to have to pay for a $70 pass each semester, but now a bus permit isn't necessary!

Most freshmen take the bus to class from the dorms. While the walk is pleasant when the weather is nice, Kansas weather is often cause for concern. The walk to campus from anywhere around Lawrence can be hard because of the trek up the hill, so students really appreciate the buses. They also run later than most classes, so you can catch a ride home if you stay late on campus.

Buses Available Throughout Town Along With Student Parking Near Campus

Buses are always running. The amount of time it takes to get to campus varies on which bus route you take and where you're living. Student parking is available. There is a small amount available on campus and then there is a Park & Ride area where you park near campus and bus will take you to the campus. The Parking & Transit is rather strict on their ticketing though.

Transportation

Public transportation is great. Bus is available to pick up students in evening/late at night if drinking, etc. and take back to campus or home. School has buses that run routinely through town to get students to classes.

Buses Are Good, Students Not So Much.

I love the bus system for students here at KU. But if you are some of those that don't live on campus, still having to pay the bill seems a little too much. But as for the bus drivers I give most them an A+ for their tolerance and patience, but the students should be less demanding trying to change the bus schedule for their own benefits. The buses are for everyone the buses shouldn't chance anything for a few people.
