UMHB has strict policies that nobody will dare try to mess with. We have a 0 tolerence on alcohol and drugs. Stay away from that and the University Laws will stay away from you.
I agree, the timing could be better so that we could plan with family and friends. It is nice to not have huge crowds in the big cities or at the beach on spring break though. :)
It is true that our school has breaks that are not exactly aligned with other schools. It can be a pain and the school does need to reconsider changing it. However, this hasn't been a big issue for me. A lot of people make it sound a lot worse than it is.
There are two ways to look at this. Sometimes it is nice to have a different spring break because then places of interest are not so crowded. It is difficult, however, on families trying to make plans.
