I wouldnt choose this school again. Its way too small and not diverse at all. Theres only white republicans with a few black people. And the city is super boring.

The campus is beautiful and the people here are good-natured. It is a smaller community which can be a good and a bad thing.

Sometimes the wireless can be a bit touch and go which gets annoying. Other than that I have no complaints.

I like most of my classes. I don't think that they workload is too much for me.

I love all of my teachers. I feel like they really care about me as a person an they want me to succeed.

I don't eat in the cafeteria often, but when I do it is pretty good.

Parking permits are free. The lots are marked as to where you can park 24/7 and where you have to leave by 11. It's really a nice system.

It IS a dry campus and the rules are enforced as such. You will not see students not receive proper consequences after being caught breaking policy.
College Sophomore 2013-10-09T17:33:29Z
Our campus is still a dry campus. But there is not a weekend that goes by that there isn't an event (especially swing dances). Also! We just got a club on campus for students 21 and older to get 2 drinks Thurs - Sat. It should be interesting to see how that affects campus life.

Campus is 6 miles out of town. If you really want to get anywhere in Bismarck, bring a car or have great friends that will take you places.

The campus is about 6 miles out of town, so you either need a car or make friends that have a car so you can get into town.

We're a private Catholic school. There's nightlife, but it's not the normal clubbing kind of nightlife.

Everyone that attends UMary has some sort of scholarship from the university. We're a private institution, so it is rather expensive. They understand that and try to make it more affordable.

We have athletics at the University of Mary, but they aren't a huge thing. I suppose they are for the athletes, but there's so much more to focus on.
College Sophomore 2013-08-06T22:06:18Z
The University of Mary has quite a few different majors, although they all revolve around the liberal arts education. I would like to see more art majors, but I'm happy with my program.

University of Mary has a pretty strict campus, which makes sense since it's built on the Benedictine values. I haven't found any problems with the strict rules, but others might if they want to drink or have sleepovers.
College Sophomore 2013-08-06T22:04:12Z
I've only met one person at the University of Mary that did drugs. Virtually no one even touches them. Drinking is more common, but I don't see too much of it.

Health & Safety:
Since University of Mary is outside of Bismarck, I have had a problem with walking across campus late at night. I still lock my door to avoid pranks, but I don't really feel like I have to be worried about theft.

The Accounting program at the University of Mary is simply amazing. The instructors are attentive to their students, and really involved in shaping their futures. They make themselves available for discussions outside of class, and they explain the concepts very well.

The academics at the University of Mary are great. All the professors are extremely knowledgable about their topics and willing to discuss things with you - even if you never had them in class. The classes are interesting and actually make you want to go to class so you can learn about the subjects.
College Senior 2013-07-28T23:33:47Z
I am in my final year of undergrad at the University of Mary and feel that the academics were a little better than mediocre. But that opinion has nothing to do with the staff at the college however, because any and all of the staff that I have encountered through the years have been amazing! They seem to truly care. Especially the facilitators that I've had when taking classes in the accelerated program. It has been extremely frustrating taking courses through an accelerated program because even though I pay the same if not more tuition I am not able to receive the same benefits as other students. So my last year of trying to learn has been a struggle more often than not. But I don't want to end up with a generic business degree with an 'emphasis' in something because I don't feel I will be as employable as I will be with a degree in Accounting or any other more specialized degree.

The campus is absolutely beautiful and overlooks the Missouri River. The best sunrises and sunsets can be seen from atop our hill, but being that it's on a hill, there is not much protection from the North Dakota winds. It also snows a lot here in North Dakota, so if you're not a fan of winter it may not be your number one choice. The school, however, is always accommodating to the weather.

Because of the great education the University of Mary provides and the sports programs, our campus has become naturally diverse. The school is very welcoming of all those who come from all over the world and strive to make campus feel like home. There are also many opportunities for new students and those of different views, cultures or beliefs to come together and share in fellowship. The school is in fact a Catholic University but is welcoming and not degrading of those who are of different faith.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
