Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Some of the best things about UMCP include the availability, quality, and variety of food on campus, all of which make living on campus a real treat. In addition to the Stamp Student Union Food Court, home to the restaurant Adele’s, campus also has two popular dining halls. The Diner on North Campus—a fun and extremely comfortable place to eat and even study—offers many possibilities, but students sometimes can go a couple of months eating the same thing twice there. The South Campus Dining Hall is on the opposite side of campus and offers a good amount of options, as well, including made-to-order meals.

In addition to the overabundance of options and the staff’s willingness to help students, both dining halls continue to offer the very popular “Late Night” dining hours until midnight Sunday through Thursday. Students may purchase fast food snacks, sandwiches, ice cream, and plenty of beverages, all of which are generally also offered during normal business hours. Eating healthy on campus is easy; the challenge, however, is not having dessert at every single meal.

Variety

The North Dining Hall and South Dining Hall contain a variety of foods ranging from salads, to sushi, the grill, burritos, and lunch and dinner specials of the day. The hours are convenient and they even offer late night options for those students that are pulling all nighters. They also offer more options in the Stamp Student Union with McDonalds, Taco Bell, a Smoothie stand etc.

Not That Bad

While there could be more variety in the food offered on campus, the quality of the available food is actually pretty good. There's a Chipotle-style food bar on south campus, as well as a fresh stirfry bar. The buffet, 251 North, offers pretty good food and is open every week night. Overall, I'm happy with the food.

B at Best

The dining halls are alright. South campus dining hall is better quality food and has a lot more options than the north campus dining hall. However, all the options that south campus dining has to offer are not always available. The food's pretty good, but if you eat there all the time it gets old.
