Every lot has a letter or number designation, and one has to have a permit matching the designation to park there. Campus police hunt down those who don't belong like there is no tomorrow, so not many can get away with an extended illegal stay. There are a couple of pay-per-hour garages, but are far apart. I still live on campus, so I can't vouch for time efficiency to get to class.
