The good news is that College Park is filled with a lot of restaurants, fast food joints, and snack shops that line Route 1 and a few mini-shopping centers. There are so many restaurants in College Park that one would think that food is the city’s top income-producing industry. The bad news is that while there are a lot of places to eat off campus, knowing that there are better restaurants a good distance away can make many students’ stomachs ache. However, there are favorites: Chipotle, Five Guys, Marathon Deli, and Noodles & Company.
The food off campus can be awesome, as long as you don’t think about universities in cities like New York, where there are 5,000 restaurants just a train ride away. College Park does have a Subway and a few McDonald’s restaurants, as well as many pizza places; however, if you go home during winter break, watch out for withdrawal symptoms because there really is something special about dining in College Park—even if it entails dining after midnight on a school night.
