The food at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore is excellent, and the quality is some of the best a university could offer. In fact, many community members even visit campus to partake in the food! The dining services employees are trained well, so the quality of the food is at its best. The variety is sufficient, as well. There are many soul food items like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and greens, and there is food that caters to the many ethnicities on campus. The hours of food service is also great, as well. Although there is no 24-hour service, students can receive a meal as early as 7 a.m. or as late as midnight.

Students who live in the traditional residence halls or student apartments are required to be on a board meal plan. But students can also use their Hawk Card at many surrounding restaurants, so it’s easy to eat off campus if you want.
