Have you made any progress in contacting anyone to get the sororities back, because pledging is something huge that I want to be apart of my college experience.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Greek life is available at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and there are several Greek organizations on campus. The members of the different fraternities and sororities display the ultimate amount of Hawk pride. The peak in representation and excitement for each Greek organization comes during Homecoming week. There is a step show where teams battle to see who has the most pride in their organization by the stomp in their feet. Numerous Greek members also wear jackets and T-shirts to promote their organization across campus.

Although there is no Greek housing available, this doesn’t stop students from becoming a part of these diverse organizations. UMES is not as Greek-centric as universities portrayed in movies like “Stomp the Yard,” but Greek organizations are definitely alive and well at UMES.
