The University of Maryland Eastern Shore gathers some of the most diversified students in the world on its campus. The average student cannot really be called “average” because most students here are beyond that. The one similarity found among UMES students is their desire to graduate with a great education.

There are more female students than male students at the University, which does create less choice for the women and greater options for the guys when it comes to dating. But, UMES has a great amount of variation among its students, and all students seem to connect in different ways. As students advance in their college career, they will likely find that the majority of their friends share the same major, which is natural since this is who you’ll have a majority of your classes with. It is also true that roommates—even from completely different backgrounds—will connect and grow to become the best of friends. This occurs despite their cultural differences and is based upon their experiences together at UMES.
