Most of the best places are no more than a 30-minute drive to UMES, which is not bad. Plus, there are more things to do—like shopping and restaurants—in the areas where most off-campus residences are located. Off-campus housing is recommended for anyone who wants to get away from the rules on campus. However, most students at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore live on campus—it is more affordable and easier to get to class.
