Best Place to Take Your ParentsCollege Prowler Take
The good news is that College Park is filled with a lot of restaurants, fast food joints, and snack shops, which line Route 1 and a few mini-shopping centers. There are so many restaurants in College Park that one would think that's the city’s top income-producing industry. The bad news is that while there are a lot of places to eat off campus, knowing that there are better restaurants a good distance away can make many students’ stomachs ache. However, there are favorites: Cornerstone, Ratsie’s, the Santa Fe, and Jungle Grille. The food off campus can be awesome as long as you don’t think about universities in cities like New York, where there are 5,000 restaurants just a subway ride away. College Park does have a Subway and a few McDonald’s, as well as so many pizza places that after a semester of living off of pies, anything other than pizza will taste pretty wonderful. However, if you go home during winter break, watch out for withdrawal symptoms because there really is something special about dining in College Park—even if it entails dining after midnight on a school night.

If you’re not looking for a chain,...
If you’re not looking for a chain, go to Bentley’s for similar bar food. There’s a great bagel store that gets pretty busy on weekends, but if you’re from the NY/NJ area, you’ll be missing a good bagel and want to get the best one available so get one there—remember, though, nothing beats a bagel from NY/NJ. If you want to travel a bit further, go to Laurel; there are lots of chain restaurants, and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is only 40 minutes away (it has the Cheesecake Factory and the Chart House, among many other restaurants). You must go to Georgetown for some of the cutest and most romantic restaurants. |

Off Campus Dining
B
There is a large variety of food available off-campus, however the number of high quality options are limited. As far as chain restaurants and fast food goes, College Park has everything you could want including Applebees, Chipotle, Noodles & Co., and many more. I think the nicest places to eat within walking distance of the school is definitely Hanami, a Japanese sushi restaurant or Jungle Grille, a specialty burger joint run by an alumni. Only problem is that these places aren't even that good, but charge lots of money. The ultra convenience of campusfood.com brings the grade up from a B- to a B.

Same Ole Same Ole
B-
In College Park, Route 1 is full of restaurants, but most of them are fastfood that are convenient for drunk students who need to munch. Chipotle, Shanghai, Panda, Ratsies, Dominos, etc are all rather cheap but not very exciting. However, they are easily in walking distance. If you have a car, there is a little more variety down Route 1 in Hyattsville or Beltsville. There you can find an Outback Steakhouse, an Olive Garden, a Buffalo Wild Wings, or a variety of diners, for example.

Stick to Places You've Heard of!
A
In general your best bet is to stick to places you have heard of or are at other schools. The best places are 5 Guys for a burger, Chipolte for "mexican", and noodles for any kind of pasta. If you want pizza and it isn't 2 am, then stick Papa John's it's way better then any of the local places and you'll know what your getting. If your really looking to sit down some where, the food is good at all the bar/restaurants, it's more the atmosphere that you have to choice, for more of a family sit down dinner defiantly go to bentleys, for a quieter sports bar stick to Corner Stone, and for a route sports bar go to Turtle.
