College Prowler Take
UMass dining commons are pretty good. Considering the number of people they feed, they keep the shelves stocked and the cafeterias clean. If you want a little variety, your best bet is to eat at one of the many cafeterias across campus. Students have the option of purchasing off-campus meal plans (OCMP), allowing them to dine at many of the restaurants near campus. If, at the end of the semester, you haven’t fully redeemed all the meals you purchased, you don’t get back the remaining balance. Therefore, buying the most basic and inexpensive meal plan is highly advisable until you figure it out for yourself. You won’t starve at UMass—if anything, you will gain weight. Saying that one dining common is better than another really depends on what type of food you like because each one is better at making one of the regular dishes than the rest of them. More than half of the non-dormitory buildings have some place to eat, even if it’s just a small coffee and pastry stand. If you are a coffee drinker, almost everywhere on campus has good coffee, even the dining commons. Regardless of what you like and no matter how picky an eater you are, somewhere on campus will have food that you will like.

Great Food
A+
Each of the dining commons are great in their own way. There is always something for everyone and the food is great. All the dining commons have wi-fi so that you can do homework. They are even open late at night. I have never had a better dining experience at any other college. The meal plans are reasonable and you can eat as much as you want.

Oh Umasssssss
B-
UMass dining has great food ...at first. The food is great the first couple weeks until you eat the same good food for the next three months. The only way to escape the repetitive nature of the DC is with your YCMP swipes or debit for eating at different places on campus such as blue wall and the hatch. UMass is improving with different stations of food such as the sushi and stir fry. Its getting better!

Good Until Thanksgiving
A-
The food was good, and visiting friends said it was better than their school's food. But, once I went home for Thanksgiving and came back, I couldn't stand the smell of the Dining Hall.

Food Is Amazing
A+
The food is way better than my mother's. Name one other university dining system that has steak, lobster and sushi on a regular basis.

Berkshire is good
A-
There's pretty good food and good variety. Late night from 9:30 to midnight is a good idea, but the things they serve at those times aren't always good.
