White students are actually the minority here; students come from a very wide variety of backgrounds. All students seem open-minded and we get occasional lectures about how to be open-minded and respectful to people of different cultures when practicing healthcare. Everyone is very friendly to one another and most importantly helpful. Competition exists, but not at the expense of being helpful to others.

I Get Emails for Some Every So Often – Our program director is very forward with us about how we can get scholarships, and is fairly helpful. The competition for them is stiff as always, but that's to be expected. There's a fair bit of red tape for applying as well.

Very Good – Academics are why people go to UMDNJ which offers medical, dental and other health related professional educations on par with many of the elite schools for half the price. Most professors have worked in the field and are quite knowledgable. They also are good at assigning useful schoolwork.

Health & Safety:
Fairly Dangerous. This is Newark. I get hounded for money right by campus. There is a moderate security presence, but I still wouldn't feel safe. I wouldn't walk around here alone at night as a female if I could help it.

Difficult. Staff That Worked in the Field and Are Knowledgable – This school is there to get you a job period. You don't go to Newark to go to parties and meet beautiful women. You go to learn, and the professors know this and cater to this crowd. Most have plenty of work experience in the healthcare field and are quite knowledgable and with it. My program also has me intern at top-notch hospitals in the area.

Lots of Foreign Food at Decent Price – The on-campus food is mediocre, but there are plenty of affordable off campus resturaunts. New Jersey is a very diverse region, and has a wide variety of excellent ethnic foods.

Not Bad – So far I have had minor issues here at the School of Health Related Professions. Such issues are related to the temperature in the classroom, which is either really hot or cold. It is difficult to predict what the weather will be like inside the classroom and what clothes we should wear that day. Another issue relates to the bathrooms having an unpleasantly distinct odor to them, but have an overall clean appearance.

I currently attend the School of Health Related Professions and love the local weather so far. I feel like the air is clean and crisp. It is however much cooler than North Jersey where I currently reside. I will know more about the weather when the Winter arrives.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
