The opinion of most UM students seems to be that the student body's bodies are great to look at, but that this is not a school to meet your future spouse. Temporary flings or random hooking up is common among freshmen who are basking in their post-high school freedom. But once everyone gets settled and makes the friends they'll have for the next four years, relationships kick in. There are plenty of great places around Miami to take a date, as far as restaurants and nightspots go. But finding someone on campus who fulfills your emotional needs, as well as your physical ones, might prove challenging. Perhaps the biggest problem is that guys and girls hide their real identities in favor of tight clothes and good tans, since that seems to be the look most students are going for.
The school can be as promiscuous as you want it to be. If you're looking for a quick hook up, it's not hard to head to a bar or club. Most students don't make this a habit, as it obviously complicates things a great deal. Your best bet is to make a bunch of friends that are the opposite sex in the beginning of your freshman year, and then you'll have plenty of connections to guys or girls for the rest of college. Overall, the guys and girls look great, and to be fair, some are great all around. But the amount of really intelligent, nice, caring people who are also hot seems to be low. Many other colleges face the opposite situation, so you have to ask yourself if you're looking for long-term relationships in college, or if you just want to have some fun with no commitment.
