Fin Aid Process

Its hard to reach the fin office by phone but when I go to the office they are helpful. The school is very expensive and I'm finding it hard to find money to attend but they have always been helpful to answer my questions but seem to quick to offer student loans as a solution to my balance.

Barely Have to Ask!

Although I'm sure there are mixed reviews on this, UM is great with scholarships. Most people I have talked to have openly said they have received a scholarship, and not just loans. I received a scholarship without even having to apply (This may be because I came in as a transfer though, I'm not 100% positive!). The school wants you to succeed and understands it is expensive but they are willing to help you in any way possible from what I have experienced.

Scholarships Have to Be Earned but Well-Worth It

I put in a lot of effort throughout high schools in hopes of a scholarship and gaining admission to a great school - and UM offered me both! They're really actively involved in trying to make it as affordable and reasonable as possible, and they give large rewards to students that excel academically.
