There is no parking. And where there is, you have to pay for it. Parking contracts are super expensive and sometimes options are far from class. Also, Ann Arbor loves to give parking tickets.

The busing system in and around Ann Arbor is really good, except for the weekends when bus routes are severely reduced. It makes it hard for work because I close on Sundays.

Great opportunities to experience culture, history, and art through different media. Diverse student population and an endless number of student organizations. Beautiful architecture and campus landscapes. North Campus could use more attention.

Fall and spring are lovely. Summers are amazing, but winters are tough.
College Senior 2013-01-25T20:10:58Z
Pros- character, walkability, neighborhoods, many unit types, access to transit options, safe and well lit streets, close to campus/restaurants/ retail/parks
Cons- very competitive, must sign lease early, expensive, small units, parking varies, maintenance/age of housing stock, apartments are old, new student housing is not quality construction but high rent

Very hot in the summer, very cold in the winter--a place of extremes

Sometimes hard to find a spot, and it's expensive. However, it's free past 6 every day and on sundays.

Local restaurants are located everywhere that boast a wide variety of price ranges. Streets closer to campus are for the cheaper, on the go meals and Main Street has a great selection up upscale food.

I'm sophomore computer engineering, I would say the course is very challenging and lot of works but the course is very interesting. Especially my engr 100 class, toy and microprocessor, many teams get to build really amazing toys.

The campus have all kind events, activities and club all over the campus. You won't get bored for the whole semester if you attend them. The campus provided plenty of room for them although most of them is on central.

Most of the off campus apartment or co ops are pretty good, almost all of them have facilities such as fitness or study room. People party less than the dorm. However the rent might be a bit expensive for housing with good facilities on central campus, but cheaper up north campus.

Nightlife in Ann Arbor is an amazing experience. There is always something going on. At night there are many places that students choose to go to, but at the same time the University also has many different programs and an amazing Residence Staff that plans events for students as well if going out isn't something you are interested in.

Drugs at the University of Michigan are not a common occurence. I have not seen any instances of drug problems on campus. The entire University of Michigan also has a non smoking policy.

The policies at the University of Michigan are uphelp very strongly. However fist time instances are usually undestood. Repeat offenders however are disciplined. So if messing up once doesn't teach you a lesson you're bound to get caught again, and it may not be a position you want to be in.

So far the classes I've had have been great. The professors are very knowledgeable and love what they do. The workload is what I expected from college, so there were no surprises. However, the registration process is terrible. Its quite frustrating getting into a class you want or need. Depending on when you registration date is, you may not be able to take classes that you need for your major unless you can get an override.

It all depends on which dining hall you eat at. Some dorms are better than others. Mojo has the most variety, North Quad has very small portions, Markley has a make your own pizza station, and Bursley has a make your own taco station. It all depends on what you like. However, restaurants in Ann Arbor are the best. There is so much to choose from. Most places will deliver to your dorm, which is awesome!

My school has so many clubs and organizations to choose from. There is literally something for everyone, and I love that. I am currently a member of Circle K. It is one of the best organizations and has the most wonderful people in it. Circle K is just one of the many organizations our there. Everyone always said there was so much to do at UofM, but I didn't realize the extent until I lived it myself. It is a great campus to live on!

Ann Arbor is the bomb dot com. There are so many restaurants and you'll never run out of things to do. It is literally the best college town in the world.

Partying is popular especially on game days and weekends. Drinking is more popular than smoking but you can definitely find weed without looking too far.

The university bus system is very reliable and FREE for everyone, not just students. The city of Ann Arbor also has a bus system that is very reliable and FREE for students that use their ID card.

Such a GREAT variety. So many local cuisines and original flavors for a small town feel.

Ann Arbor is one of the most culturally aware, ecologically aware cities in Michigan. It has a lively college atmosphere with great restaurants and art and music. It is also a very family friendly town with lots of resources for outdoor activities and healthy living.

Many choices to choose a major and you can even design your own.
College Sophomore 2013-01-18T18:25:15Z
Ann Arbor lacks in parking spots. Bring one with you.

Health & Safety:
Central campus has many "blue lights" but elsewhere they are lacking. Campus feels very safe but off campus one may need to be smarter about their surroundings.
