The School of Social Work is awesome! The professors are experienced, knowledgeable and stretch you to think critically about social issues. The course offerings are diverse and the school does a great job of supporting the students.

As a vegetarian, I was certainly worried about the options at the dining halls, but there are plenty of options, and in a few dining halls they don't let you serve yourself so portion control is much easier. I love the food at U of M!

I love the availability of computers at U of M. There is always an open computer, and there are labs in a lot of the academic buildings so you're never far from your documents. It's certainly easier to have your own computer, but definitely not necessary.

Plenty of parties at U of M. They're free, and people are pretty inviting. However, the frat houses are pretty far from campus.

There is a great variety of majors, something that I really like. Then again this can make it harder to figure out what you want to do.

Excellent professors, and great courses. But they have high expectations of their students, so the exams are very hard.

The college is very diverse. All races and religions are excepted. So much for everyone to become involved in and to be accepted into. No reason to feel left out.

High Expectations – I am a Freshman at the University of Michigan. It is a great school and has been a tough learning experience. I have great teachers but kid you not the school has a great reputation and it is not easy. I work very hard to achieve my grades and even then they are not where I want them to be. I also have access to tutors which are a great since of relief. The teachers are available to answer all your questions you might have. I am thankful I have had the opportunity to attend the University of Michigan. Go Blue!

You Never Have to Leave Campus – The campus is located so close to downtown that there is really no reason to ever leave. There is so much going on all the time. Anyone who is bored it is their own fault. There are so many school clubs, activities, social events, music programs there is never time to get bored. The school sets a high standard in its academic learning that if you are not seriour about learning you do not belong there.

easy to find a way anywhere. Buses, taxis, train and airplane. The cost is very affordable and easy to get.

I am a pre-med major and I have not held an intern position yet. I am looking to shadow a doctor to get some experience of what it would be like to work in the medical field, and medical schools like to see this.

It's fairly difficult to obtain a non-LSA major. The business school and public policy schools are difficult to get into and highly competitive.

A lot of cool places to visit. Ann Arbor is an awesome town.
College Sophomore 2012-12-03T17:56:46Z
There are many different races here. While the majority of people are white; there are many African Americans, Indians, people from the Middle East, people of Asian decent, and Hispanics.

There's tons of restaurants in Ann Arbor. You can pretty much find whatever kind of food you're looking for and in whatever price range. A lot of restaurants are within walking distance from campus too, so you don't need a car to find something good to eat.

Campus police are really nice and helpful, and the RA's will let some things slide; just don't bring alcohol back to your dorm because they WILL report you if you do. If you do keep alcohol in your dorm, just don't go around telling people.

The blue buses are good, but not great. If you live on North Campus then you have to take the Blue Buses. They come often on the weekdays, but they do not come very often on the weekends. They have improved the blue buses since I was a freshman.

It is interesting to be in the economics program at the University of Michigan. The point of the major is it should be something that you enjoy. I just recently started economics and I enjoy the program. I am going to pursue this major at the University of Michigan.

I want to have an internship at the end of this year for sure beginning in the summer of 2013. This will allow me to explore what careers that I can achieve from the major that I am pursuing at U of M.
College Senior 2012-11-30T01:21:41Z
If you do well in the economic prerequisite classes, then you will be fine for doing well in the major. It was pretty easy to get admitted to this particular major. I am going to declare my major at the end of this year.

Guys & Girls:
There's a pretty wide range, definitely depends on what you're looking for though.
College Junior 2012-11-29T21:48:38Z
The labs get crowded during finals/midterm studying, but there are a ton of computer always available if you know where to look.

Health & Safety:
The University of Michigan Police are always on campus and they are readily available to students, faculty, staff and anyone else who needs them. The campus is a very safe place and the campus police work very hard to keep it this way.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
