This grade is somewhere in the middle because your experience really depends on which dorm you live in. Most of the dorms have good and bad aspects. New dorms like Alice Lloyd and Couzens are ridiculously nice, but a little bit of a farther walk from central campus, and they have to share a dining hall with MoJo. North campus dorms are quiet and okay to live in, but very isolated and not as social. Markley is not nice and new, but is probably the most social dorm on campus. Northwood apartments are probably the worst option for students, as they are isolated on north and lack a hall community.

South University and State Street are both home to many different restaurants of all different types of food and prices. There are chains and fast food restaurants and also nicer, more expensive restaurants. Most of these are very close to dorms, apartments, and houses, depending on where you live, and if you're willing to travel a little, Main Street has many options for finer dining.

I personally like the farmer's market in Kerrytown a lot, but if you have a car here there is lots to do. Also sports are amazing here and makes it a true college experience.

Very difficult to find a spot on the streets and it makes bringing a car a hassle.

They are very picky with whom they will award scholarships to.

Great college town with lots to do on and off campus. Campus is nicely integrated into town

It is entirely possible to live on campus without a car, even living on north campus. The busses run until 3am most nights. If the busses have stopped running there are "safe ride" options where a taxi will take you for free from any library to your destination free of charge as long as you show your active Mcard. The city-wide busses are free also with an active Mcard. If you stay over summer term though, north campus transportation is difficult as the Bursley/Baits route stops over spring/summer.

There are plenty of computer locations across campus. Each academic building normally has a few computers for students to use, whether on north, central, or south campus. Even the dorms have available computers. You just need an active uniqname and password. They also have a mix of PC and Mac computers normally. There are printers at most locations, and you can even print wirelessly! I feel students do not get enough printing pages provided to them free of charge. I normally go over, but it is still cheaper to pay for printing through the university than to buy your own printer and ink.

The food quality and variety is good but not every dorm has a dining hall. If you live on central campus there are plenty of dining halls near, but there is only one dining hall for all of north campus. Many people cannot use up their meal plans by the end of the academic year, so I recommend choosing the option with more blue bucks+dining dollars than actual meals. The blue bucks and dining dollars are great to use at university unions for to-go options.

Mostly need-based. The only merit-based one I have heard people getting was one for Valedictorians or Salutatorians.

Between the UM bus system and the Ann Arbor bus system, there are many routes and many different areas you can go through public transportation. Taxis are also available.

Amazing college town. So diverse and so many things to do. You can make what you want out of it.

The bus system is really well run. There is an app for your phone about when the buses will arrive.

I enjoy the Fall where leaves turn different colors. I also love the cold weather during the winter and I look forward to the snow! The weather so far has been warm, not like the typical winters.

There are tons of computers everywhere and I have never had a problem.

I was not involved in Greek life, but I head good things from people who were.

The professors in the school of dentistry are wonderful. The lectures for one course have various professors who are experts on that topic. There is also a lot of diversity!

Housing is expensive and so is parking. Safety is okay. Just take precautions. Don't sign leases with Prime Housing. They are an awful management company that take advantage of students in need of on-campus housing.

I am beyond happy with my program. I am working towards a bachelors of science in Anthropology and Spanish. The only thing I would change is taking an anthropology class sooner as I cannot get enough of it. I will be going to Belize in South America this summer to study Mayan culture in Spanish. I will also be attending a university while there to expand my majors. My career goals are to be able to do study cultures (modern and ancient) in Latin American counties and possibly teach others about what I find or learn. I don't have any concerns as of yet. Anthropology is very much about networking and so far I have been in contact with a world famous paleoanthropologist (Milford Wolpoff who is also my evolutionary anthropology lecturer) and a well-known archaeologist (Lisa Young).

Health & Safety:
Although crime does occur on this campus, it can be VERY easily avoided. I have never felt unsafe while walking on campus. The biggest crimes that I am aware of are house robberies where people have left the house with doors and windows unlocked, or sexual assault cases where people have been walked home alone extremely late at night (usually after drinking). Police are everywhere on campus as are alert buttons and emergency numbers are readily available to students to program into their phones.

We have some of the best college athletes on this campus (Denard Robinson who is our quarterback and Sam Mikulak who was an Olympic athlete for men's gymnastics). Our athletics department holds the athletes to very high standards and it shows in our team scores. Our school spirit is contagious; our football stadium is always packed with students and alumni wearing Maize and Blue apparel. The chant "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine" is repeated all day and is screamed among all people present. Students support the athletes through thick and thin and we form one large family in the name of athletics.

Guys & Girls:
There are cute boys, but a lot of them aren't looking for anything serious.

You can find diversity- but most people tend to stay with their own "kind".
