Michigan is a smoke free campus, but many people definitely use drugs in their personal time. Since it's so common, it may be an easier environment to try. But I've never been treated differently based on my choice to participate or not.

Michigan doesn't have the nicest off-campus apartments, but there are a few new complexes that are more expensive but include more perks. You can find a variety of housing, from locations, apartments, houses. Overall they are of average quality, and landlords can vary greatly

Most buildings have undergone renovations and are much nicer, cleaner, and spacious now. The older buildings aren't as good but are still very social, fun and great. Housing processes are really easy, the food can be really good but is usually okay, and central/hill housing units are close to everything. Getting housing on north campus can be more difficult but if you get used to the bus system, it's not that bad

In my opinion, University of Michigan is the most well-rounded and enriching school. The academics are top notch, and most of our programs are in the top 10 if not 5 of the nation. Athletics are obviously amazing and huge part of the campus experience. It's incredibly fun. There are tons of different student initiatives and groups that you can join to make the experience personal, while being diverse at the same time. People are so nice, from all over the world, and great to learn from. I would chose my school time and time again. Some may be better in academics (or just one department), but lack the athletics. They may have the athletics, but lack the academics. Michigan is..perfect.

Student involvement in athletics is amazing. Basketball and football are the two major sports that almost everyone on campus participates in. We have the biggest college football stadium and have over 100,000 people in attendance at every game. Students and alumni have so much pride in our team, so it makes everything so much fun. There is even a lot of support for smaller sports, including soccer, lacrosse, etc. Overall, athletics is a huge part of our campus life and it's awesome

Student life is great and the campus is full of things to do. Most buildings are modern and clean, as the school undergoes reconstruction every year. There are still some old buildings but it adds a nice touch of different architecture and aesthetics to the overall campus. Libraries are great for studying although it's sometimes hard to find a spot during midterms/finals, and you need to know which library/floor to go to in order to accomplish what you need to. Campus tradition is obviously amazing and it gives me so much pride in my school. It's an experience of a lifetime

I lived on off-campus housing my entire time in Ann Arbor. It was fine.

When it 's hot it's really hot and when it's cold it's really cold. Autumn and Spring are the best and it would be a perfect location if those seasons lasted longer.

Drugs are everywhere. You must know what you want and what you don't want in your life.

Ann Arbor is a fantastic town.

The campus is the best of the best.

the bus system to the North campus needs to be improved.

The Big 10 conference athletics is unparalleled.

I loved The University of Michigan because I was able to major in English and minor in a professional theatre program. I enjoyed the Big 10 atmosphere and the Arts were unparalleled.

It's Michigan! The weather is pretty unpredictable and it can be really cold and windy and sucky.

I hear that nightlife is great, but if your underage there is nothing for you to do.

I don't even have a car and I'm glad I don't. From what I know from friends and fellow students, parking is horrendous on and around campus.

It's one of the best public universities in the country.

I have not yet picked a major.

Food is great! There are so many options and dining halls. If you have a meal plan, you can eat anywhere and there's something for everyone.

I thought the housing practice was very easy to complete. The program that I'm in allowed me to live in a new, spacious building with amazing proximity to classes. However not everyone has this experience and some freshman get stuck in really small, old and crappy housing.

Guys & Girls:
I think it is possible to find a committed relationship here, but it's difficult. Guys are generally attractive and are usually pretty smart. However, there is a huge hookup culture here and if your not into that you might want to search elsewhere.

I don't have any knowledge or experience in this area.

I have not declared a major yet, but majors are very active in getting information out to potential students.

U of M likes to say that the campus is very diverse and accepting but it really isn't. We just had a scandal with a fraternity trying to throw a racially insensitive Halloween party. You really have to try hard to connect with you're minority group, in whatever form.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
