Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Facilities at the University of Michigan are frequently undergoing construction and with great results. The campus is full of gorgeous buildings, both modern and historic. While most of the residence halls are some decades old, the University recently added a new dormitory, North Quad, and a few of the older halls are undergoing renovations. The beautiful Law Quad, home of the University's law school offices and classrooms, is adding a new hall across the street from the Hogwarts-esque architecture.

Important academic buildings are concentrated on Central Campus for the most part, and they often connect in architectural designs that are helpful for students trying to navigate their way to class. The campus has three gyms with recently-upgraded equipment, plus libraries galore. Students are never short of lounges and study nooks to retreat to with their books.

What I Love About University of Michigan Ann Arbor

The campus is clean and green. The buildings on campus are beautiful and quite historic. There are loads of campus activities and clubs available. Best of all, the campus is located near the downtown area, so it is easy to pick up lunch, go out to dinner, shop for clothes, get a haircut, etc.

Huge Variety of Libraries

If you want a casual place to study or huge tables for group projects theres an Undergraduate library (UGLi) or Community Learning Centers (CLC's) or study lounges in the dorms. For a more focused and quiet area try the Graduate Library. For super quiet focused study area go to the law library. Theres something for everyone!

Favorite Things To Do

If it's a nice day, join thousands of fellow students on the Diag to bask in the sun or just hang out. Catch an independent movie at the Michigan Theater, see a musical staged by the prestigious musical theater department at the Power Center, hear a concert at the acoustically-perfect Hill Auditorium, or take a stroll in the Arboretum—the University's expansive park of rolling hills, running trails, and riverbeds.

Michigan students have it all at their fingertips. From great restaurants in the Union to nuclear testing labs, everything you’d ever want is on campus.
