Everybody smokes and drinks and parties are the place to go if you are looking for drugs.

My school currently does not offer the major I want so that has made things difficult.

I hope to have either a photography or graphic design internship in the near future.

The wifi at school is very weak and not easily accessible.

I love the housing at school. It is very close to all of my classes and easily accessible.

Guys & Girls:
The girls are beautiful and the guys are all really nice.

During the summer, the weather is close to perfect here. It usually doesn't get too warm, the humidity sometimes is bad, but for the most part the temperature remains in the 70-80's. The winter is a little more harsh. The lake has a huge effect on the weather and sometimes prevents a lot of snow, or causes a large amount of snow. The tunnels in the school help with the cold temperatures and I love the four seasons that we are able to get up here. Dress correctly and the winter isn't too bad!

The cost to park at the school is very reasonable for the whole year. I feel safe leaving my car in the parking lot knowing that the grounds are being patrolled quite often. I always have an easy time finding a spot. I think that enough kids live far enough off campus and come and go throughout the day that there is a good rotation and usually enough room for everyone to park. The walk from the parking lot is no more than a five minute walk. There really isn't' a huge need for a car on campus, the bus lines are free and there are a lot of buses that come and go from campus to all over Duluth.

Landlords here are horrible. If you can, purchase a house and rent out the rooms to people to help cover your mortgage costs. Many people that are landlords here don't take care of their properties and don't care about their tenants. The school doesn't do much to offer off campus housing or help, but there are always places being posted on the internet to rent. The cost of living here isn't horrible expensive, and you can usually get a decent place to rent for a small budget.

The athletes in the school are well known, but still remain respectful to the rest of the school. They have the same expectations as any other student and don't seem to be treated differently. Some students you don't even know are athletes! Hockey is huge here and it's always a anticipated sport. The athletic facilities are well taken care of and a fun atmosphere to be in.

Guys & Girls:
Every student has their own looks here and isn't about being showy. No one seems to care how anyone else looks and it's a much better learning environment. No one is judgmental. There are a lot of artsy people that attended school here and everyone gets along well. There are always a lot of people gathering and chattering.
College Senior 2013-11-11T17:06:37Z
Many more teachers are strict about attendance in their classrooms. Even if they don't take attendance, they know and will base your grade on off if you attend class or not. They also make it a point to get to know you better and are able to write you letters of recommendation, which is very important for your career. Teachers and administration here care about each student's success.

There are always plenty of computers to use around the business school. The printing availability is convenient, you are able to hook your computer up to the wireless printers and are able to print it out at any computer lab in the entire school. It is a hassle to have to use your U card to print, and it is kind of expensive to print.

Duluth has the best variety for organic options that I have ever seen. There are many restaurants that offer dishes that use locally grown products and organic produce. Quite often there are farmers markets that sell organic and locally grown produce for anyone to buy. Not only do they do this off campus, but on occasion the farmers markets come to campus to allow everyone to participate in the sale.

Many of the students participate in the nightlife activities, but aren't peer pressured into it. I think that underage drinking is not avoidable so the way that the police force handles it is the right way. The more they push to try and eliminate underage drinking, the more the kids will push back and continue to drink underage. I don't get a sense that kids visibly come to school under the influence, and there will be students that do that everywhere so I believe that this is not an issue here at this school.
College Senior 2013-11-11T16:56:18Z
I really enjoy being here because it is so diverse. There isn't a lot of ethnic diversity here, but among the students that are here, there is so many different types of kids that go here. No one is afraid to express themselves. No one seems to judge anyone else and everyone is friendly to one another.
College Senior 2013-11-11T16:53:30Z
There is always a lot to do off campus! There are so many places to go and hike or do some outdoor activity. In the winter, if you don't like the cold, it gets a little tough to find things to do but usually you can find a group of students that are doing something. I like the feeling of being in a smaller town, but have the shops close enough that there is everything that you need/want here.

Health & Safety:
I feel safe when I am on campus. There are always a lot of people around walking or riding bike. I frequently see the Duluth Police along with the UMD police patrolling the area. There isn't a lot of crime here and I feel like all the students watch out for one another.

I don't really know or hear a lot about the Greek community. It isn't as large here as it was when I attended the U of M in the Twin Cities.
College Senior 2013-11-11T16:48:27Z
When touring I thought the dorms were well kept and seemed to stay quiet. Everyone was pretty respectful of the building and it seemed to be an easy place to make friends. Since I transferred in as a Junior and have a dog, I chose to live off campus, but did tour the building. I really liked how the tunnels connected right to the school so the students didn't have to walk outside to get to class!
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:17:35Z
Greeks are often seen as sort of cocky about being in a frat or sorority. The houses are typically pretty trashy, but no one is required to live in them if they dont want to.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:15:55Z
From what I know, most students are satisfied with the parking situation around campus. The police are quite strict about policies though, and the walking distance is sometimes an issue.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:14:14Z
I think the dining center is very convenient and has a wide variety of options. Also, I think it is a good value.
College Freshman 2013-11-10T23:12:54Z
On the weekends, basically everyone is trying to find a party to go to. A common place is the frats or house parties, but drinking also goes on in the dorms.

I got lots of scholarships and grants that help me tremendously with my tuition.
