Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Robert Frost articulated it perfectly when he said, “College is a refuge from hasty judgment.” The University of Minnesota is the epitome of an institution that stands to support the students make their own dreams come true and provide them with structural skills to enter the real world. The students love being a Gopher and show off their spirit because U of M is truly a community of its own. Sometimes, it can be difficult to find one's niche, but there are many opportunities and experiences to be had that will help students find their strengths and weaknesses. The academic opportunities at U of M are limitless. They will fit one's interest and pace. The resources offered at the U of M are phenomenal, but a student must reach out to them. It is the perfect blend of city and suburbs, with a touch of old country in some parts. Even though it is one of the largest universities, students always feel welcomed as if it's home.

Students know whether U of M is a good fit for them within their first semester. But most students love being here and take advantage of the diverse variety of people, culture, and the environment of the University. Being in a big city, it is relatively easier for students to come out of college with a good structural foundation in their fields and be able to find a job to apply their newfound knowledge. The U truly appreciates the uniqueness of its students and provides them with tools to enrich their knowledge and get an edge in the competitive market. The students are equipped with great educational opportunities, learn new ways to socialize and build connections, and along the way make good memories with lifelong friends. U of M offers anything and everything a student expects from his or her college life and much more.

So Safe

I've literally left the library before at midnight or 1 am both on school nights and weekends during finals time and walked by myself and never felt threatened.

C

Not Too Easy to Find

Although it is a large campus, there are barely any parking spots, especially with all the construction currently going on. There are parking garages but these are usually very costly.
