The nightlife, like the local atmosphere in Minneapolis and St. Paul, is wonderful. There is so much to do and so many places to go—whether you’re 21 or not—that the decision of where to go almost makes your head ache. The nightlife is in full-swing seven days a week. The one piece of advice to adhere to, when enjoying the nightlife of Minneapolis and St. Paul, is to go in groups of two or more. The Twin Cities are full of places to fit every need, want, or desire. Whatever the preferred nightlife scene, the Twin Cities have it. “18-and-over nights” can be found all over town, so the nightlife is not limited only to those over 21. A student does not have to travel far to find a great bar, restaurant, or coffee shop to hang out in. Many of these places litter the campus area and are brimming full of fun, activity, and conversations. The wonderful thing about the Dinkytown and Stadium Village areas of campus is that the bar scene is ever-changing; because the owners of those buildings or businesses are constantly trying to update what is available in their market. If students want a break from campus life, they take a bus, taxi, or drive into downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul, and the choices of where to go and what to do are astounding. Either way, there is always something to do in regards to the nightlife in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Nightlife is for students 21 and older. There are a few 18-and-older clubs downtown, but I say skip the clubs. House parties are free, the music is better, and you don’t have to pay for a cab back to campus. Some good spots: Spin, Brothers Bar, Aqua, Sallie's, and Annie's.

The best place to find parties are on frat row or in Como. There are a ton of bars and clubs that are 18+ and 21+. There is always a party or a club to go to.

Typically, the younger students hang out around frat row, Como, or the Stadium Village Apartments because they are close and easy to hear about. There are a few bars in Dinkytown that seem to overflow on the weekends, and the clubs are fun for a special occasion or once every so often.

We actually have a few bars and clubs in the town. Those are okay, but they are campus bars (not wonderful). Otherwise, there are plenty of different bars and clubs around, since we are in between two major cities. Name the kind of atmosphere you like, and you will most likely find it. It just depends what kind of places you’re looking for—they have so many different types. |
