Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Overall, students don’t want to leave Ole Miss or Oxford, even after they graduate. There are many students who choose to get additional degrees just so they don’t have to leave. The University provides almost everything one could want in a college experience. There are great sporting events that are heavily attended by the student body. There’s a hopping nightlife. There are many religions and church denominations. There’s a supportive faculty, a beautiful campus, and interesting classes. The job rate for recent graduates is very high and offers salaries that are competitive with other SEC schools.

If there’s something students say they would change about their Ole Miss experience, it’s typically that Oxford doesn’t have some of the conveniences, such as a mall, which other campuses in larger cities have. For most, this minor inconvenience is counteracted by Memphis, Tupelo, and Jackson being so close to Oxford. Many students credit Ole Miss with making them who they are and say they have fond memories that will last a lifetime from a place that remain with them forever.

Ole Miss has one of the most...

Ole Miss has one of the most amazing atmospheres you'll ever find at a college. Almost always ranking in the top five party schools in the nation, you never have to worry about becoming bored here. Plus, it is an extremely easy university. In other words, you don't have to worry that much about grades.

Although the academic demands are not equivalent to Harvard, I got a great education from Ole Miss by forcing myself to take harder classes with more demanding teachers. You will get out what you put in.

It Is All Right but for the Money. . .

I honestly should have gone to University of Memphis. It is wonderful that Ole Miss has their satellite campuses in an attempt to cater to the non-traditional/working students but they really need to expand the courses available on those campuses. True as far as labs go I can see why that is probably a no, but for lectures only offering level 400s on main campus. Seriously? If I had wanted to commute to Oxford x amount of times a week I would have applied for the Oxford campus. For as much as I pay in tuition (which is the same as the students who go to the Oxford campus) I expected a little more. For as much as I pay I could have just attended University of Memphis and had a shorter commute from work. It is kind of ridiculous to say the least.
