The School of Engineering at Ole Miss really stands out when it comes to studying in a research-friendly environment. The labs in the engineering buildings are intended for a wide array of fields within every discipline offered. Professors are genuine in their teaching craft and are there when you need them.

Parking

Parking is horrible at Ole Miss. UPD gives parking tickets out like crazy.

Way Too Overcrowded

Parking at Ole Miss is awful. You can hardly ever find a spot thats closer than a mile to your nearest class. The parking decal office issued about 2500 more decals than parking spots that are available last semester.

Low Morale for Football Team; High Campus Involvement

this past season has been one of the worst in school history. our football team has fallen flat on its face, metaphorically and physically speaking. the head coach was recently fired as well as the athletic directer asked to step down, so promise and hope are right around the corner. until then, the fan base and support from students and alumni are at a bare minimum. personal athletics, which includes intramural sports and using the gym, which is on campus, is in full swing. many students attend the Turner Center, either for racquet ball game, swimming match, quick workout, play basketball, or just a jog around the running track. numerous students take advantage of staying healthy and fit by using the Turner Center, which is complete with brand new and up to date equipment.

Beautiful

The weather is so so nice here. You get all four seasons, and Ole Miss is beautiful in every one. My favorite is fall, when all the leaves change colors and the temperature is in the 60s. Winter's pretty and sometimes it snows, but it's not too horribly cold. Spring is gorgeous with all the flowers blooming and the grass in the Grove is green and the temperature is pleasant. Summer gets pretty hot, but not unbearable as long as you have AC.

Good Availability

Good availability, but a lot of apartment complex aren't too skilled as matching roommates up. Otherwise, the only other issue is utility prices and the way they gouge you for every last public service. $100 for this, $200 for that. It's obnoxious. You can sense they're taking advantage of the college students.

Very Safe Campus!

I have never felt unsafe at the University of Mississippi and have only gotten positive vibes while on the lovely campus. There are MANY cops roaming the town of Oxford which is reassuring but also a drag if in the wrong state of mind. Just be smart and you'll be absolutely fine.

Very Nice

By far, guys/girls here are generally educated and well spoken. That coupled with so much southern hospitality makes finding a someone very easy, very enjoyable, and usually worth your while

Ole Miss Turner Center

I know this is going to sound dumb, but I have yet to venture to the top floor BUT I am taking a water aerobics class this semester and it has been so much fun. The staff have been very helpful and the facilities are great, including the pool, the locker rooms, and the showers.

Guess Hall

Take my advice, live in any other building except Guess. The washing machines are absolute crap, there is no elevator, some of the showers don't even have doors on them (just curtains) and it's a COMMUNITY BATHROOM, the temperature can't be regulated independently, and the garbage from your room needs to be taken down all the stairs to the dumpster in the parking lot, where raccoons live. Throwing things out after dark is not an option. This all makes me sound lazy, but trust me, it is extremely inconvienient. However, the location of the dorm is great because you can make it anywhere on campus in 15 minutes or less, and there is a bus stop right next to the driveway.

AMAZING

For greek students, you biggest worry will be how to fit all the partys and socials and mixers into your life, its insane. nightlife here all around is on another level compared to the rest of the country

Hottest Girls in the Country

Everything you have heard is true, the girls here are the best in the entire country, hands down, not even close

UNREAL

If you dont love football, and a great party do not come to ole miss. baseball is also a huge deal here. we love our sports teams and we love to party HOTTY TODDY

Show Me the Money!

Ole Miss basically throws money at students with high grades or respectable resumes, that combined with the tuition which is 2500 a semester makes Ole Miss extremely affordable

Ole Miss

Ole Miss has a great variety of foods from subway to pizza to sushi. It's also a very easy process to pay. Johnson Common is also a great place on campus, total buffet! Ole Miss also has a great flex plan that is $200. You can use it in the Union, the JC, or any of the vending machines, and what you don't use, rolls over to the next semester!

Dorm Life Is Exellent

you meet a lot of your best friends through the dorms and its great for your social life. I just wish they were co-ed...

Nice Weather

I love the weather in Mississippi. It is warm and nice.

Residential College

The Residential College at Ole Miss is a state of the art dorm that allows for the betterment of its inhabitants. Living in this dorm has been really nice. Here we have our own cafe, fitness area, library, study groups, computer lab, and much more. It is definately a privilege to have been chosen to live here.

Track and Field

I feel students attending the University should be able to try-out for any sport available.

Dorms at Ole Miss

I lived on campus at Ole Miss for two years. Freshman year, I lived in Martin. It is BY FAR the best place to stay. Sure the building is old and the elevator sucks, but it's the center of freshman activity. SO much fun. If you can't get in, Stewart should be your second choice. Sophomore year, I lived in Crosby. AWFUL. The only perk was that my entire floor was my sorority sisters. The bathrooms are terrible, rooms are just nasty, and my room was infested with bugs.

Surrounding Community

The school is located in a nice little city where there are plenty of places to go to eat.

Pretty Crowded During Finals and Midterms

They're pretty crowded when it's time to take a test for midterms or finals but other than that, it's okay.

Campus Safety

It's pretty safe. I never feel that I am alone walking on campus be it day or night.

Food at Ole Miss Is Awesome

There are some many different dining facilities that I never have to leave campus to get my favorite foods such as pizza and sushi.
