Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The MU sports program is a well-known and respected program. The football games bring out many fans, especially during Homecoming. Football games are usually packed, and tailgating starts early and ends late into the night. Traffic is the only problem during football months. School spirit is very high during football season. Most students are pure Tigers at heart; many alumni come back every weekend for the games. Students are proud of their teams and what they accomplish. In recent years, basketball has not been as prominent, but students still support their basketball team.

The intramural and club sports are popular. The recreation center provides sign-ups for intramural volleyball, basketball, Frisbee, soccer, and flag football. The only issue you might have is finding people to play and show up at the designated game times. Students have a lot of fun with these sports and make new friends. The athletic facilities are very clean and up-to-date.

Most Popular Sports

Football is the most popular sport on campus, with basketball coming in second. Students get very pumped up for football season.

Most Overlooked Teams

The women’s volleyball team is really talented, and the games are quite entertaining.

School Spirit

A lot of the spirit at Mizzou is very real. The school has been cultivating a competitive sports atmosphere for decades, which means generation after generation grows up loving the Tigers. When students get to the school, that passion is amplified by the fact that they actually go to school with the athletes they’ve been idolizing for years. During football and basketball games, students become emotionally invested in the action on the field. The result of the match could alter their mood for the next couple of days.

Getting Tickets

The easiest way to get tickets for Mizzou sporting events is to buy an all-sports pass. For around $200, you get to go to every sporting event available on campus, including basketball and football. For basketball and football, however, you need to go to the Hearnes Center to pick up the tickets. It is recommended that you get football tickets early, or your seats will be bad. For basketball, however, it is general admission.
