Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

On-campus dining is the reason for the "Mizzou 22." Many other college students gain the Freshman 15, but at Mizzou, students like to take it a step further. Mizzou has a lot of different dining halls: Rollins, Dobbs, Eva J's, and Plaza 900—to name a few. Students prefer to eat at Plaza 900 and Rollins because they are the newly renovated dining halls and seem to offer more food options, but the others provide the same quality of food.

Other than the dining halls, MU's campus has a Subway, but in May 2011, the University took the McDonald's out of Lowry Mall. Students can walk downtown and have a different variety of food. Chipotle, Shakespeare's Pizza, Campus Bar and Grill, Noodles & Company, and Domino's are just some food places located right off campus.

Campus Food Can Get Boring

I like food in the dining hall but the one thing that I don't like about it is that if you are not in the mood for what they are serving, then you have to settle for something else. The food overall is good. There are 5 dining locations plus retail food available in the Student Center, so there are options, but it all depends on where you are and how willing you are to walk to a certain place. Meal plans will save your life! There are 3 meal plans to choose from: 175,225 or 275. Many people who live off campus don't have a lot of meals available to the so people with swipes (meals) provide those people with food. Towards the end of the semester, people are either trying to get rid of meals or find meals, but it all depends on how much you eat and which meals plan you have.

It Honestly Depends

The places around campus are good but it does tend to get repetitive. The dining halls that I would recommend would be Pavilion at Dobbs and Plaza 900 since the food is usually good at one of those places.
