College Prowler Take
Missourians love their exercise, and Mizzou delivers in spades. With its artificial turf and one-third mile track, Stankowski Field is a popular place for students to scamper to when the weather is sunny. When it begins to snow the next day, however, the Rec Center is a fine substitute. Students also tend to agree that the student center is a great hangout—with a decent food court, the campus bookstore, and an arcade. It is also an ideal place to do some studying for a group project, or to just chill out and relax. The Memorial Union is more of a meeting area for clubs, but it also has a spread-out area to study and to eat. The architecture on the World War I memorial is striking and has the feel of a gothic cathedral. Also, the Francis Quadrangle’s classroom buildings are beautiful; they are entrenched neatly in a remarkable landscape, the towering Jesse Hall, and of course, the famous Columns. The classrooms inside the buildings are a little on the plain side, and some of the desks are small. For the most part, the campus facilities are well designed and functional, and they make the campus attractive and unique, to say the least.

Facilities on campus are good. The Rec Center is great for me (I’m a work-out freak). Computer labs are plentiful and accessible. Student commons areas and unions are comfortable and have convenient hours. |

My only complaint is that the seats from about the fifth row through the back in Middlebush Auditorium are really small. You pay to use the Rec Center, whether you like it or not, so take advantage of it. |

The Rec Center is tight. I’m up there at least four or five times a week. We also have a Student Success Center where they give tutoring, writing labs, and computer training. |

There are facilities on campus for everything, and in general, they are really good. The Rec Center is pretty nice; they have a lot of machines, racquetball, basketball and volleyball courts, and an indoor track. Then, right outside is Stankowski Field, which is a track (1/3 of a mile) and three soccer and football fields inside of it, with two baseball diamonds, too. There are always people there playing random games of football, Frisbee, or whatever; the lights stay on until midnight. Also, they have two basketball courts and two sand volleyball courts. The Student Health Center can be helpful at times, but don’t always trust them. |
