Somewhat Helpful

Probably more helpful for students with a high level of need. Much less helpful for merit-based aid.

Decent Experience

I received a very good amount of financial aid. When it was time to consider tuition, the aid was there if accepted. I haven't had any problems.

Look and You Will Find

If you put in the effort you will find money to meet your needs. The process was simple in my experience. Financial aid took away the stress of worrying over money so I could focus on more important things.

Advice on Financial Aid

The FAFSA is a good place to start, but don't let it be the last. A lot of students regret not applying for other scholarships. In this economy, everyone can use some extra help. Find websites that offer scholarships and ask your workplace if it offers any (many places now do give their student workers scholarships). One thing to be very careful of is that you don't fall for scams. There are a lot of companies that will ask for a payment to "search for or apply for scholarships." Don't fall for this! They are scams. Websites should not charge you for anything dealing with scholarships.
