Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Judging from students’ comments, it’s obvious that Lincoln is a college town. There are four colleges in the area, which means there are tens of thousands of college students to run into at bars, sporting events, parties, malls, and concerts. Omaha offers a nice change of pace for when students get tired of the usual Lincoln hangouts.

Lincoln’s no NYC, but considering it’s 35 times smaller, it still has enough to keep any young adult occupied. While the city doesn’t have a Broadway or well-known historical landmarks, it does have its share of nature and enough local landmarks to make it feel like home. Lincoln is small enough that, during your senior year, you’ll probably recognize someone anywhere you go, but it’s also big enough that you’re not bored out of your mind after the first week.

Middle of Somewhere

Many people believe there is nothing in Nebraska. However, Lincoln is bustling with life. Downtown Lincoln is literally a block away from campus. The urban area contains theaters, shops, restaurants, and much more. The capitol is a fun place to visit on a rainy day. The Historic Haymarket is just blocks away. It has coffee shops galore and the best steaks you will ever eat. Lincoln is also very community oriented so service learning and internship opportunities are plenty.

A Good Feeling.

Downtown is a very popular hang out for University students, it's right off campus and people love the cross over that comes from being a student during the day and a teenager walking around downtown at night. The amount of things that are available are pretty good but it would be nice to have some things downtown or on campus for students who aren't yet 18 and for people who aren't yet 21.

Definate College Town Especially Downtown Area

The college is in the heart of the downtown area and is totally a college based area for students. Definetly a student friendly area with easy access to attractions, activities, cultural events, shopping, sports/recreation.
