There isn't much talk about on campus drug use, that I hear at least. Alcohol is somewhat common but again most students do their drink off campus if they drink at all.

We have a very good hockey team which is very close to being devision one, hockey is the most popular varsity sport on campus.

Omaha is a growing city and there campus isn't too far from down town. There's plenty of malls and sports teams. There is the Henry Doorly Zoo which is one of the best in the country. It's is a relatively safe city and attitudes towards students are good.

There's a lot of options when it comes to campus dining though it can be a little expensive depending on your meal plan. You also have to option of just eating in your dorm, which is what I normally do, since you have a full kitchen.

On campus parking can sometimes be difficult but if you park off campus there are shuttles that pick you up and bring you to campus so you don't have to walk. Tickets are moderately priced but as always, it better to just not get them. Permits are over $200 I believe. It is not necessary to have a car on campus, I do not, and it isn't a very big inconvenience for me.

I live on campus and know very little about off campus house options so I cannot give an accurate answer.

Health & Safety:
There are emergency posts where all you have to do it press a button and campus security will show up shortly after. Campus security also patrols the campus at night. It feels very safe. There is easy access to the health center and also counselor available if you ever need someone to talk to.

All dorms are apartment style, so every student has there own bedroom and shares a bathroom with only one other person. There are four bedrooms per dorm, two bathrooms, a living room and a full kitchen. It is a little harder to meet new people this way but if you're outgoing or getting involved in clubs and activities it shouldn't be a problem.

Since the university is in Nebraska, the weather changes a lot during every season. The winters are very cold and the summers are very hot with fall and spring being right in the middle.

The campus is very diverse, we have many international students and there is a club or organizations for just about anything you could want to get involved with. It was also very easy for you to form your own club if there is one you want that isn't already on campus.

I have my own lap top which is extremely helpful. I don't know much about the school computer labs because I don't have to use them. The printing is very easy, you have to pay for each page you print but it's only a few cents. The network is very reliable and speedy. There is also reliable wifi capability in any building on campus.

The financial aid process is fairly easy you just have to pay close attention to dates of when applications are due and make sure you fill everything out correctly.

"On" campus parking with a permit is close to the halls and easy to find. "Off" campus involves parking far away (blocks away) and there aren't any sidewalks leading to the campus. It fills relatively quickly.

I received the Dean scholarship, a pell grant, and a student loan. I was unable to attain the same scholarships as peers due to my race.

The student cafeteria is open only during lunch, early dinner. There are MANY options, but for healthy options, it's better to go to the fitness center.

I've lived here all my life. Even though there aren't many nearby campuses, I still see a great deal of intermingling.

The fitness center is great. All students are able to access it, upping the health awareness prevalent on campus. Our hockey team boosts moral. I'm not sure about intramurals.

The counseling and security heads are pretty good at keeping up with the alcohol/narcotics.

At peek hours of the day, connections will begin to slow down (unless using an ethernet cable). Printing is charged PER page, color, etc., and payments are made on your MavCard (meaning you need to upload money before use). Labs can get crowded, especially within the student hub. Bringing a laptop is NECESSARY.

As a Psych major, there are many available courses and electives of all different strengths. Teachers conduct fairly, and fellow students are insightful.

I only down-grade this department because their is no psychiatry program available unless I want to transfer.

I live off campus, but visit friends often. My ratings are based on observations.

From what I've seen, campus officials are strict in the areas needed, and lenient in the areas needed. They act to keep the students active, but safe.

I live off campus, so I don't go to any parties on campus.
