With the addition of the Lied Library, UNLV went from computer zero to computer hero. Computers used to be hard to come by, but today, it seems like there’s one every way you turn. Several hundred computers line the ground floor of the library, and more are on each of the other five floors. Students can also borrow laptops from the media resources desk by simply showing their student ID card.

Computers labs are abundant, and several are located in prominent, high traffic buildings such as FDH (Flora Dungan Humanities), CBC (Classroom Building Complex), the Moyer Student Union, and the engineering building. Many colleges even have their own specialty labs that offer specific programs to assist their students, such as the architecture lab and the computer science building. The biggest draw, though, is the wireless network. The wireless network now covers more than 28 main areas, including many popular hangout spots. All you need is your student ID number, and you can log on whenever you want with your laptop if you have a wireless network card. The only downside to the network is that it’s not campus-wide.
