It doesn’t matter, but you’ll have a slightly better chance after graduation.
Housing is both easy and difficult to obtain in Las Vegas; it just depends on how high your ambitions are. If you’re looking to rent alone or with a roommate, finding housing can be a fairly simple process. Many people who need a roommate post ads on bulletin boards located all over campus and specify exactly what kind of roommate they’re looking for. If you need a place for yourself, there are plenty of apartments to the north and east of the campus that are within quick walking distance from UNLV, while to the west you can find some that are about a five-to ten-minute walk away. Prices are pretty decent compared to most other large cities, and the closeness of the Strip can keep you entertained yearlong.
If you’re looking to buy something, go for it. Condominium prices have plummetted in price in recent years. The housing market once boomed in Las Vegas in the late ‘90s, when moving to Las Vegas became the thing to do. Now there's a nice range of choices for potential buyers. Many apartment renters have had trouble around the Valley, as a lot of apartments have been converted into condos, leaving the lower-income market somewhat lacking when it comes to space available. Either way, the vast majority of students who live off campus live either with family (if they’re local) or in a rental. With some hunting, you're bound to find the right match. If money is tight, you'll probably need to get a roommate or two.

Rebel Place
Rebel place is a great apartment complex to live in. They are affordable, nice places and you live around other students which is really nice. It is close to campus and has a security gate, so it is a safe place to live.

College Prowler guides are in the hands of students throughout the entire process. Because you can't make student-written guides without the students, we have students at each campus who write, edit, and survey their peers for every guide that we publish.
