College Prowler Take
UNH Dining Services tries very hard to please as many students as it can and has won numerous awards for its efforts. The students who complain about the UNH campus food selection should realize that dining hall food has to be produced in mass quantity, so in the process of making large amounts of food, many of it may lose some of its flavor, hence the awful reputation that dining hall food has universally received. However, students have a say in how they want their food prepared through "napkin notes.” Students are encouraged to write suggestions and comments on their napkins and place them in a special box at the exit of the three main campus dining halls. Each napkin note is read and responded to via a napkin note board that is placed in the entrance of every dining hall. Many of the students’ concerns and wishes have been accommodated in this way. While the food can get old on campus, Dining Services also has a “Cat’s Cache” program that allows students to put money on their student ID card, which can, in turn, be used at certain shops downtown to purchase food and many other items. This adds a little variety and excitement to the dining options considering that students aren’t limited to campus grounds when their stomachs start rumbling. Overall, the campus food services genuinely go out of the way to please students.

Food is a lot better than other campuses, and they actually have vegan options, but they still need some work. People love to get dollar-slice pizza downtown, and Pauly’s makes awesome falafel. |

Compared to most schools (so I’ve heard), our dining halls are pretty good. We have unlimited meal plans and a wide variety of foods at the dining hall. In addition to whatever the main course is for the night, we always have pizza, stir fry, salad bars, sandwich bars, soups, grilled food, and many other things to choose from. I eat a lot better at school than at home. Besides the three dining halls, we have a couple of café-like places where you can buy food to take out with you. It’s convenient for people who are always going to and from classes. |

We all complain about the food at UNH, but the school has won many awards for the food. It’s actually very good. People complain because, like any other school, it can get old. The good thing is that if you don’t always want to go to the dining hall, the MUB has good food, and you can use your meal plan there. You can also use ‘Cat’s Cache’ at most downtown restaurants, so there are many options. |

The dining halls are surprisingly not bad. We just got a new dining hall, which I enjoy a lot. The MUB has a food court in it that has many places to go. There is a sub shop, a burger place, a Taco Bell, a salad bar, and a counter for home-cooked food. |

The dining halls suck, but I’m sure that is the same everywhere. On campus, there isn’t really too much besides some pizza places and buffet-style dining halls. My favorite place to eat is the MUB (Memorial Union Building), where they have a food court with pizza, sandwiches, Taco Bell, and other foods like that. |
