Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

UNH has a dorm to suit anyone’s style. Whether you’re a double major in biology and mathematics who wants nothing more then a quiet living space to study, or a party animal jock whose sole purpose in life is to be the center of attention, there is probably a dorm for you. There are large freshman dorms that aren’t as pretty as other dorms—Christiansen, Williamson, Stoke—but the people you meet there and the relationships you form are hard to come by anywhere else. Some disadvantages to freshman dorms are the loud atmospheres, dirty hallways and bathrooms, and the sometimes long walks to classes. Themed halls help students find others with similar interests. There are many themes, including chemical-free, multicultural, business, and even all-female dorms.

Most students agree that your chances of getting into anyplace other than a freshman dorm are slim, due to increasing freshman class sizes, but it’s worth the effort to try. Living with people other than freshmen can have great advantages. Upperclassmen have a better sense of the school, and they have experience that most freshmen will not be able to provide. The biggest advantage is the newer and nicer rooms. Whatever your style, you can find a place to fit in at UNH.

A-

Friendly and Safe Rural Atmosphere.

There are so many different dorms one can choose form when attending UNH. There are some for all years and even different ages. While some of the dated ones are as great, such as missing AC, some days can be rough. They campus is large, but very easy to get around and makes students get out and walk with lots of fresh air. The gym is alright, kind of small for the student body, but is workable around classes due to it's hours. The cost for in-state students is rather affordable compared to other schools. Durham is in a great location too, only 20 minutes form the seacoast and an hour from boston. There is a train and bus options to help students travel home or for fun. The social atmosphere is very friendly and lots of students to make different friends.

Dorms

I live in one of the newest buildings - Serc C - and it's absolutely beautiful. It's quiet, and a little secluded, but close enough to my classes without being a burden.
