College Prowler Take
UNH has a dorm to suit anyone’s style. Whether you’re a double major in biology and mathematics who wants nothing more then a quiet living space to study, or a party animal jock whose sole purpose in life is to be the center of attention, there is probably a dorm for you. There are large freshman dorms that aren’t as pretty as other dorms—Christianson, Williamson, Stoke—but the people you meet there and the relationships you form are hard to come by anywhere else. Some disadvantages to freshman dorms are the loud atmospheres, dirty hallways and bathrooms, and the sometimes long walks to classes. Themed halls like Smith and the Clubhouse help students find others with similar interests. There are many themes, including chemical-free, multicultural, business, and even all-female dorms. Most students agree that your chances of getting into anyplace other than a freshman dorm are slim, due to increasing freshman class sizes, but it’s worth the effort to try. Living with people other than freshmen can have great advantages. Upperclassmen have a better sense of the school, and they have experience that most freshmen will not be able to provide. The biggest advantage is the newer and nicer rooms. Whatever your style, you can find a place to fit in at UNH.

The dorm you choose depends on what you want out of school. If you want to be able to walk out your door and onto frat row, you should stay in the biggest dorm, Stoke. Williamson and Christiansen are far away from the parties but close to the school. The Gables is in the middle of nowhere, but there are no RAs either, so you can have parties and stuff without anyone watching you. |

Most of the dorms are pretty nice. I’ve seen better at other schools, but they’re not bad at UNH. Definitely live in freshman dorms for freshman year. They’re not as nice as some of the others, but you’ll want the experience to be with other people who are going through the same things you are. |

The dorms at UNH are great. There seems to be one for everyone, so there aren’t any to avoid. There are dorms near downtown, larger ones, smaller ones, ones near classes, secluded ones, ones near the gym or food courts, and even ones that have themes to go along with what you’re into. |

Overall, the dorms are a good size, and there aren’t too many problems. Freshman dorms are kind of far from classes, but they are nice because all the residents are freshmen. You’ll have some of the best times of your life here. |

Some of the dorms are better than others. I would avoid Stoke Hall. Hubbard Hall is very nice because the rooms are bigger than most, and Congreve Hall has a very good location. |
