Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Most students say they see marijuana use happening on a regular basis, but although drug use is basically out in the open, it’s rarely a hassle. Some students aren’t exposed to any drug use at all. The general consensus is that drugs are basically there if you want them to be.

At UNH, the harder drugs are much less prevalent, and very few cases have been cited. Overall, UNH is a fairly harmless school when it comes to drugs, but ultimately the choice is up to the students.

Drinking Is Most Popular

Most students drink, and some student take part in the drug scene. Mostly weed and adderol for "studying". Police seem to be cracking down, or trying to crack down, on the adderol use in the libraries and such. There have been a couple drug busts at frat houses recently for cocaine and such. However, the most noticeable usage is definitely marijuana. I don't see many kids getting caught unless they are stupid about doing it in their dorm rooms. Seems like nobody gets caught in the apartments/off campus housing.

Party School Is Right

Even walking around campus I hear people talking about how they are going to go to a party or drink a lot of alcohol. Almost every weekend (and some weeknights) you can hear drunk people yelling and screaming outside.

There are some drugs done on campus, but it's not as obvious.

People don't pressure you to do anything; they'll respect your choice.

Drug Scene Is Small

The majority of drugs used on campus are prescription - adderall, percosets. A large percentage of the student body smokes marijuana and it is readily available. Drinking definitely overpowers the drug scene
