Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Campus offers a lot to UNH students. The University has renovated the athletic centers, library, and numerous dorms. Several years ago, the campus opened Holloway Commons, a $26 million dining hall, and Mills Hall, a suite dorm that has five- to eight-person rooms with deluxe bathrooms and a living room in each.

UNH has many fields and two main athletic centers to accommodate the Division I sports teams on campus. Mostly due to the strength of the UNH hockey team, there's a prime ice-skating rink open to all students on campus. The rink can get a bit crowded, especially on the weekends. In fact, all the athletic facilities can be a bit crowded due to increasing student enrollment each year. But there are ways around this. Going to the gym early in the morning or late at night will greatly increase your chances of getting on the exercise machines that you want to use. Also, UNH has plans for more renovations in all its dorms. A multi-story parking garage may also be on the agenda of the campus administration in the near future. However, until more space is available, most students work around the crowded times at the gym or the pool. Overall, the students at UNH seem generally happy with the facilities provided for them.

Schools Sick

The dorms are sweet, the food is great (for college), and the athletics building houses the best gym around.

English/Philosophy Building Is Last Priority

Of course, english/philosophy departments are last on the totem poll. As the business school is getting upgraded yet again, Hamilton Smith is falling apart.

Lots but Not Always Welcoming

As someone who doesn't workout much, the gym is a really intimidating place to be. All the people there will look at you because you aren't as hardcore as they are.

There are certainly lots of clubs and activities on campus that are welcoming and enjoy getting new members.

The libraries are great to have, but can be difficult to navigate through.

Favorite Things To Do

The campus offers many activities, including billiards, swimming classes and activities, working out at the gym, dining from 7:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m., or attending scheduled entertainment in the Memorial Union Building (MUB).

If you're looking to kill a few minutes between classes, you can find plenty do in the Memorial Union Building, such as studying with a fresh coffee or milkshake. There is a large billiards room on the ground floor, where you can always find a table. If you have more time on your hands, the MUB has events scheduled every day, including a lecture series, musical performances, comedians, and club meetings.
