College Prowler Take

For most students, UNH was not their first choice. However, many of these same students will tell you that they learned to appreciate UNH and its well-rounded course curriculum, spectacular seasons, local “college town” atmosphere, and myriad of activities for students of all ages. It’s safe to say that UNH is a school that caters to the needs of many different personalities. The campus also encourages students to explore all that they have to offer through many different organizations including the American Students Association, several fraternities and sororities, and the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality. Although the campus has its shortcomings in some areas, the effort of the administration is greatly evident through  renovations of several dormitories and on-campus facilities. This open and accepting environment seems to carry over to the non-student residents of Durham, as well, which is obvious, due to the amount of specials by local businesses geared toward UNH students.

The town of Durham revolves around the students and vice versa. Most students will agree that just about everyone they meet on campus has a great personality and is very good looking. This atmosphere provides a very comforting and
safe campus that genuinely leaves the college experience up to the students.

I am very pleased with my decision to attend this school. The campus is just so pretty, calm, and laid-back, and everything is at your disposal. UNH really gives students a chance to shape their own experiences. Classes, parties, friends, drugs, sororities—they are all there for you to mold into whatever you want. Nothing is forced in your face; it all just floats around your head like puzzle pieces, and it is your job to put that puzzle together.

I was accepted to all the schools I applied to, but I chose UNH because it was the one I could afford. To be honest, it wasn’t my first choice. Let me tell you, though, that I had a great time while I was there. The school is wonderful, and I had a good time.
