In general the computers at my school are good. The campus tech staff update things constantly such as new computers or newer versions of certain software programs. The computer labs tend to fill up at lunchtime. I find it very difficult to get a chair so I believe bringing my computer is a better option. Plus this allows me to use it outside in the fresh air or at the coffee house while doing homework. Printing on campus is okay as well. They have printing stations not only in the computer labs but outside as well just in case you need to print something quickly. The internet works pretty well with only minor glitches every now and then. The speed of the internet is slow but when you have thousands of students using the same internet it would be slow. Wireless access is all across the campus so I am able to receive wireless all the time.

I actually dont go to bars or parties because I dont drink. I dont find parties that fun to go to unless its a party arranged by a club on campus. When traveling to campus I do see some bars close by with people there at night. I think its an easy place for students to go because its only a 5 minute walk off campus. Dealing with prices and fun, I have no idea. The typical parties that I attend are Halloween dress and dance, Christmas wacky tacky dress up, etc. These parties are just opportunities for students to dress up and dance with each other.

Health & Safety:
The safety and security on my campus is okay. I dont actually see the security very much at night but I see them more during the day. I feel like they are on campus when most of the students are on campus. If I walk alone at night I feel okay about it because I have never run into problems so far. I dont find many students out at night but if they are outside they are walking back to their dorms, going to the library, or getting a bite to eat. The campus in general is pretty safe but one street right off of campus has several problems. I find emails where this street has had a theft or shooting and that part of campus doesnt make me feel very safe. There is a campus police office right by there but they dont seem to be doing a good job of protecting that area. In general, if you are walking alone at night you can call campus police to escort you back to your dorm or to your car which is a great safe measure to me. I enjoy the idea of having that as an option just in case I need it. I mainly wish for the presence of security to be seen more at nighttime.

I believe that the diversity on campus is the best. I find it easy making friends from every angle. I have stayed in the international dorm where I met many different people. I have met black people from Scotland, white people from Africa, etc. It really allows me to open up my mind and realize how everyone is from different backgrounds. Not everyone has to be from one certain place and that is the same with economic backgrounds, political beliefs, etc. I go to a school extremely diverse. We have religious groups of campus, a campus with a lot of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender), people who believe in revolution, people who believe in Obama. It is an extremely diverse campus. I see and hear different things every day from this diversity. I find it my campus is really open to everyones beliefs. It is a good campus to see and hear something outside the box and not in black and white.

At the beginning of my college experience I spent most of my time in my room because the weather was either extremely hot or extremely cold. Mainly I spent more time in my room when it was cold. I tended to not do as many activities because of the weather. I could have done a lot more but did not want to freeze while doing activities. I wish instead that I would have grasped the weather and took advantage of the different things that my campus offered during each season even though they did not offer very much during the winter. I really regret letting the weather take over my college experience.

The off-campus housing selection at my school is very good. The pros of living off-campus is that I am able to see more of the city outside of campus, able to park where I live, rent can be less than on-campus housing, and there is more activities in off-campus housing than on-campus as well. Some cons about living off-campus is the distance from school, having to pay through online every month or pay by check whereas on-campus the financial aid office pays for housing and I dont have to deal with it. Usually the availability for off-campus housing is really good. The places that I choose to live I am able to rent whereas some of the on-campus options I might not be able to have my first choice. The convenience of off-campus housing is good for me. It is cheaper than on-campus housing but the distance is the only thing that is inconvenient. I have to wait for a bus to go to school which is 10 minutes down the road and sometimes the buses dont run on time. The landlords are nice and friendly and actually provide activities for me to do. I feel pretty safe in this environment. I believe that off-campus housing is a lot better than living on campus even though if you live on campus you have better access to the library and classrooms.

I really do not like the athletic services that are provided at the gym. Don't go if you are looking for an athletic school.

As a Post-Baccaleurate we get the short end of the stick. We are not offered work study, federal grants and if you have capped out of your undergraduate federal loans you have to find other means for funding. it is a hassle.

Health & Safety:
I haven't had the need to visit the health center. There are usually robberies on streets where most free parking is held at for the school.

I have only experienced difficulty within the financial aid and account services. Students are very acceptive the administration needs improvement though.
College Senior 2013-12-11T14:51:57Z
The athletic center is small and outdated. This school isn't based off of athletic funding (no football team) it is a pretty campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
