If you notice anything while visiting UNCG, it will be the gorgeous campus. Many of the buildings have either been built or remodeled within the past few years, so everything is really top-notch. The buildings that have not been renovated still retain their original charm and beauty—just take a look at the Foust building. But more important than the pretty exteriors is how useful the insides are to paying students, so it’s a good thing UNCG’s facilities are definite crowd pleasers. The Elliott University Center acts as an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the average weekday, providing a place for students to refuel and relax. But it’s not all play; the EUC also houses the offices of most campus organizations, and even has two ATMs and a machine that sells stamps so students can take care of their personal business, too.
The rec center, which contains the campus gym and swimming pool, is a favorite among health-conscious students. While the building contains all of the latest workout necessities, it seems that there is never enough to go around. Students often have to sign up for specific times to use the most popular equipment, like the elliptical machines or the treadmills, but it is usually not a big hassle once they figure out how to work it into their schedules each week.
