Delicious but Unhealthy – Firstly, while there are several dining locations on campus, they all seem to serve the same items and all items have the same kinds of seasonings.
The food is tasty, but even the "healthy" options are less than desirable. For one thing, fresh fruit is hard to come by in the dining hall and even the salad dressings at the salad bar are incredibly fattening.

Always Bring Your Umbrella to Class – Wilmington is a beautiful city and a wonderful place to live! We have beautiful weather here during spring, summer, and fall. July and August are the hottest months because of the level of humidity. Winters are typically mild and it hardly ever snows. Always be prepared for a surprise shower, but they never last long. We are in an area where hurricanes can be a concern. However, there hasn't been a serious threat since I have been here and the university has a very thorough plan if that ever needed to be implemented.

Way More to Do If You Are 21 – There are some spots in the downtown Wilmington area that allow students under 21, but not very many. Also, I think downtown is a little bit rough and sketchy. Whenever I do go there, I don't see very many people I know from school and it seems like there are more people in there late 20's/early 30's. I never go downtown unless I am with a group of people that I know I can trust and can have a good time with for the duration of the night. There are a lot of fun places to go in Wrightsville Beach, but they are 21 and up. The "beach bars" are great because they are all close together; you can go in each one, have just one drink, and move on to the next one. There are a lot more UNCW students/college-aged students here and I always see lots of familiar faces.

Park Where Your Permit Says to – While parking is extremely convenient for students living on-campus. It can be a pain for commuter students. Even though there are plenty of spots available for those students, they are quite a distance from certain academic buildings. My entire junior year, I had a good 15-20 minute walk from my car to my classes. I had to leave my house a half an hour before class at the latest to make it to class on time since my assigned spot was so far away. Also, if you don't park in your assigned zone, in visitor parking, or in fac/staff parking, YOU WILL GET A TICKET!

Great Time at Uncw – Throughout it all the experience has been great, the faculty are helpful. Several opportunities have been laid out for me and my courses are hard, but great.

Guys and Girls – Attractive, athletic, smart, some have better and worse personalities. Some aren't open to new things

Rate My Review – Some classes are really hard, no matter how much i study it doesn't seem to show improvment. Or the test will be somewhat irrelevant

Some teachers grade differently and easier than others which is unfair

Tons to Do – Obviously, you are in a college town so there are usually good parties on the weekends. Sometimes hit or miss and its generally BYOB, but at least there's no cover charge and they don't card.
The Beach Bars are fun with a laid back atmosphere, but they are 21+. If you are under age, closer to down town will have clubs and if you can wash off your "X's" you shouldn't have a problem ordering a drink. (Hand Sanitizer helps. Plus not all of the clubs are super hygienic. You might want to be carrying it anyways.)
If you drink too much there are taxis. Its like 10 - 12 dollars depending on where you go, but if you are splitting it with people it really isn't bad. Plus you can get taxi vouchers from the school which helps.

Nursing Is Amazing – I came to UNCW specifically for the Nursing Program. It has one of the highest reputations on the east coast and the building they just built for it is f***ing beautiful. (Yes the self-censored swear was necessary to stress how amazing this building is.) The professors are caring and helpful. I just love it.

Tons of Variety – The campus has ton's of places to eat. For dining halls there's Wagoner's (Wag) and Dub's Grill which is kind of small, but good. The food court is awesome. It has Chik Fil A, a mexican place (my favorite), Quiznos, salads... Whatever you are in the mood for, you can usually satisfy it.

Punishments Fit the Crime – I have never gotten in trouble with Campus Police aside from some parking tickets. But when the other students are doing illegal and disruptive things, like drinking in the dorms when they aren't supposed to, its really distracting and takes away from what the people around them are trying to accomplish. The police and University are pretty strict, but I prefer it that way.

Fantastic Experience – The dorms at UNCW are pretty small, like most dorms, and a lot of times you feel like you can't get any privacy, but I truly recommend people live on campus in the dorms. You meet so many people and do lots of fun things. We had two girls on my floor who were on crutches at one point in the semester. We took turns racing each other down the hall and back. People were falling over and trying to sabotage each other. It was hilarious. You just are going to get experiences like that if you live at home or in an off campus apartment.

Guys & Girls:
You will find a wide variety of students on campus. There is not one "type". I really like the wide range and it is great for students!

Must Experience – I think living on campus is the best part of ones college experience. It makes college, college! Many go into it, dreading the small rooms and sharing but it flys by, you learn, grow, and really have the time of your life. When else are you going to have the opportunity to live with your friends! Housing really works with you as long as you are patient and respect them. There are about 13,000 students that attend UNCW so housing does the best it can to meet everyones wants and needs!

Good Company – Athletics at our school are not extremely competitive. They are fun to go to and show school spirit.

Wag Swag – There are many places to eat on campus. Dubs Cafe is okay, it kind of depends on the day. Hawks nest has a variety of options, but you can only use meal swipes certain times of the day. The Landing sandwich shop and Einsteins Bagels are both awesome, but they can be kind of expensive. Wagoner Hall (Wag) is the BEST. Everyone goes there to get there wag swag on. It is always a meal swipe, you can eat as much as you want, and they always have lots of options!

I Love Parks and Rec – I used to be a history major and one day I realized it wasnt for me so I went on the advising website and discovered Parks and Recreation. Ive never made a better decision. With this major I have many opportunities for hands on experience which is incredibly helpful for my learning experience. All the staff members in the Parks and Rec department are very helpful and have lots of personal experiences and they are all willing to use any connections they have to help students find internships and jobs.

Diversity at UNCW is almost non-existent in terms of race. There are lots of white students with black, latino, and asian students sprinkled in. However, I still gained a valuable experience from this school since attending because of the different socioeconomic backgrounds of my peers, including they type of city they came from, if they were from out-of-state, wealthy, etc.

The buses on campus are pretty convenient. You can go online to the WaveTransit website and track their schedule in real time. There are loops that run in opposite directions around campus and other transits to get you to convenient locations off campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
