Parking is available to all students, including freshman. Students living on campus are required to park in a residential zone (close to their dorm) until 4pm and then they can park in select other lots. Commuter and off-campus students are assigned zones based on class status (freshman usually have to park on an off-campus lot and take a shuttle to campus). If you live within one mile of campus, you can't get a day parking pass, only a night-time one good for after 4pm. The parking enforcement people are really a bit overzealous, so you better park in your spot and will receive no mercy if you don't!
