In the areas of facility and campus quality, UNCW gets an A+. It is definitely one of the most attractive campuses in North Carolina and is extremely pedestrian-friendly. The campus is spacious, green with trees and grass, and is home to new updates, building expansions and developments each year. There are new buildings on campus, such as the nursing and psychology buildings, and a lot of newer buildings within the last five to 10 years, such as the Education Building, Cultural Arts Building, and upperclassman apartments; these are all state-of-the-art and provide modern amenities. Older buildings from the '70s and '80s include some of the residence halls and academic buildings, such as Bear and Morton halls.

UNCW does an excellent job of sending out surveys to the campus population, asking for their input, what they want to see, and how the plans should be developed. These surveys then help determine how to renovate older locations. UNCW also excels at making sure to contain campus construction to certain areas so student and campus life is not hindered in any way. The changes, updates, and expansions made each year really benefit the University, including an expanded student rec center with an Olympic-size pool and amazing workout spaces. Additionally, the campus is very clean and well-maintained, with daily cleaning and landscaping. The top-notch facilities mean there's ample options for entertainment and fun for students. UNCW is a youthful campus, so it's fortunate that the campus has the room to expand. With more than 600 acres of University-owned land, there's nothing but opportunity to grow.
