Guys & Girls:
Girls dress nice everywhere they go. Guys are always in bus-casual attire and everyone keeps themselves well groomed. Greek life is always a good place to start if you want to get to know someone better. The girls are very classy and there's nothing but southern gentlemen here.

Health & Safety:
Extremely Safe – I only hear about three break-ins a semester. There is no gang violence or sketchy people wandering about in the middle of the night. I feel extremely comfortable coming home from the library at 4 am because the only people out there are students and they have no means of hurting anyone. Also the campus is lined with towers with a Blue light that flash when someone is in danger. There are local police everywhere

If you or a friend has a car, you are sure to find all the possible restaraunts you could imagine. There's everything from vegan to Thai to chain restaraunts. My favorite is to eat out with friends from NC State since they are so close. I really like driving to Union Square because it has a lot of variety and cuisines that I don't typically eat so it gives me a way to try new things.

There is hardly any compared to other schools. I would rather them give 10,000 students an $800 scholarship than have ten scholarships for $10,000 a piece. I think there should be more grants to help for even little things like text books, and the text book stores on campus should really lower their prices to be more competitive instead of charging premium dollar then giving you $15 for a book you paid $260 for.

South campus is usually where the underclassmen are and is a great place to meet people. It can get pretty loud at times but it is fun. North campus is where the upperclassmen usually live and is a more quiet atmosphere. North campus is also closer to your classes. You can leave about five minutes before your class starts and get there on time.

The parking on this campus is terrible. It takes forever to find a spot and it can take a while to get through a crosswalk area. Parking spaces can be far away from your classes.

I absolutely LOVE UNC and if I could do it all over again I definitely would. I couldn't have asked for a better school and I will remember every moment that made my college experience the best that it could have ever been!

UNC's facilities are great! I couldn't ask for anything better

The dining was average. Although there are many different places to eat on campus you get tired of eating the same thing. But overall the food was pretty good. I didn't eat in the actual cafe alot though because I didn't have a meal plan.

UNC Chapel Hill has alot to do for students on campus. There is always something going on whether it's an event, a concert or a comedy show at a local bar. Although there aren't any shopping malls in the city there are many stores and boutiques to shop in. They are always building new food places to eat at as well. Overall the student life is great and it's not too hard finding something to do.

Greek life is prevalent but also not dominate at UNC. Members of fraternities and sororities do not confine themselves to their own clique so the student body is still pretty diverse and interact with one another. Many of the students who participate in Greek life or choose to rush live in Granville Towers so if you are interested in participating in Greek life, you might want to consider living there.

There is a wide variety of places to eat on Franklin Street where you can find restaurants like Panera, Spanky's, or Sweet Frogs. There are two major dining halls, Lenoir in North Campus and Ramshead near south campus. The food in the dining halls are decent but it can definitely get old after a while. There are 3 meal plans to choose from depending on how much you plan to eat while you are in college. The plans are pretty flexible and reasonably priced.

Big City Apartments Are Expensive! Chapel Hill is a giant city. Though it is known for UNC, Chapel Hill is also part of the research triangle, as well as a huge business city. Off campus housing will be extremely pricey based on the high demand for housing in the city. Many out of college employees rent housing out of the city and would rather make the drive than to pay for the high rates of Chapel Hill.

Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is located in the South. We have pretty mild winters, it gets pretty cold but never unbearable. On occasion, we will get snow, but many winters we don't. The summers are very hot, but not as many students enroll for summer school. And those who do, find ways to stay cool.

Average Greek – Greek life isn't the major thing on campus. Though there are those who do participate, a lot of people do not. And no one is discriminated based on whether you are or not in a frat or sorority.

Freshmen Class Dorms Are Not Too Shabby – The dorms at Chapel Hill are very nice. The halls are clean, the bathrooms are easily accessible, and the ceilings are relatively high. The rooms aren't the biggest, but smart arrangements can lead to a lot of floor space.

Health & Safety:
Safe and Secure – UNC Chapel Hill is a very safe campus. It's located in a "college city" so everyone in Chapel Hill knows about the university. The campus is large, but there is sufficient security patrol to make me feel safe and secure. Our dorm rooms are pretty secure, unless you leave the door unlocked - that just invites people to take your food and other small items.

Health & Safety:
No Safety Problems – Carolina goes out of it's way to make sure it's students are safe and protected. They send out frequent alerts via email and text messaging to update you if there are any situations you should know about. Also, if you are studying late at night at the library, there is a program called Safe Walk which hires students to walk other students back to their dorms so they do not have to walk alone and in the dark.

So Many Choices! The famous Franklin Street, right next to campus, has tons of restaurants to choose from! Everything from Mexican, to Chinese, to pizzas, to burgers, and more. The prices are very reasonable, and easy to stop in and out between classes.

Parking can be a nightmare because there are so many students, and so little space. I have a parking permit, as a senior, but as a freshman or sophomore, it's basically useless to have a car unless you live off campus.

You can usually find a computer. However, the wireless connection isn't always reliable depending on where you are on campus. Usually printing is good but sometimes it isn't working. However, it is easy to find printers everywhere. There is wired internet access in every dorm room. A personal printer is completely unnecessary but a personal computer is helpful especially when taking notes in class.

Unfortunate Victim of Budget Cuts – The University of North Carolina offers a program for almost every student. I understand how stressful it is entering college unsure of your career direction, so I can completely endorse the university's effort to ensure their students find the right program. I have changed my decision about my major multiple times, but I believe I have absolutely found my calling. However, budget cuts have reduced some programs causing interesting classes to be eliminated from some programs. Nonetheless, the number and quality of the majors at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill continue to prepare students to become America's next leaders.

Top of the Line – I don't know a single person who is unfamiliar with the caliber of our Tarheel Athletes. With multiple national championships in many sports, Tarheel students fully and actively support our athletes and athletic program. Go Tarheels! And even if you are not a varsity athlete, club and intramural sports give everyone something to do, as well as our innovative gym facilities.

Guys & Girls:
Diverse, but Elitist – I enjoy the diversity of Tarheel students, but there is a collective attitude evident on campus that makes small-town, humble students like myself feel distanced by most other students. Most students are incredibly friendly and have thriving personalities, but the elitism that most radiate can easily make peers and students of other universities feel inferior. Most guys do not radiate this attitude, but it is common among the girls on campus.

If you are caught with drugs or alcohol by the police, you have already put them in a position where they have to take action. The police do their job at UNC, but at the same time, they aren't pro-actively hunting students down for underage drinking.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
