Like Attracts Like – There seems to be a lot of diversity at UNC, but the ethnic groups all seem to stick together and there's not a lot of intermingling. Which is kinda sad. I wish I had more Indian friends.

they would be nice if they weren't always under construction or condemned because of asbestos

One of the things I like about UNC is that we are very accepting of people, and there's a place for everyone.

Franklin, Franklin, Franklin – Good choices, especially places like Buns and Cosmic Cantina. Lots of stuff is open late too.

Tons of Opportunity – There's always something to do at UNC, and something to learn. There's so many opportunities, it just depends on whether or not you have the initiative to take advantage of them. There are brilliant people here as well who will challenge you to make you a better student. Don't get me wrong, there are derps here as well like at any school, but it's what you make of it. Classes are hard, but not ridiculous and don't have to be the center of your life.

Dorms vary in their quality, from great choices like Morrison to not so great options such as Craige or Hinton James. The dorms have gotten better as they added more air conditioning, making the worst dorms more liveable. For me, I have always been fortunate with getting good dorms, so I cannot complain.

Any food you could want is right on Franklin St., which is walkable from the dorms. The food is priced well, which is convenient for college students. Being a college town, the food isn't incredible, but it is good enough and quick, which is good for a busy student.

Registration Process – Registration can be quick and easy, unless you are trying to get into a popular class. If that is the case, registration can be very stressful and a lot of the time the system is glitchy, making the process even more painful.

Chapel Thrill – Chapel Hill is a great little college town which I think sets it apart from other schools. Also, the academic prowess that is associated with this school makes the atmosphere contagious for learning. One downfall is the greek life, because I think there is a difference between sororities especially in the south than the ones up north and in the Midwest.

It's Been Great – As an out of state student, knowing no one coming in, this experience has been great. Initially it was a little overwhelming but now I am very comfortable at my school and have met great friends with whom I have had a lot of fun.

Still Live on Campus – Not many people move off campus until later in the college career, I've come to realize. I am a freshman who lives on campus and I will live on campus again next year. I don't have much insight into the off campus lifestyle.
College Junior 2012-04-16T23:44:54Z
Everyone Has a Laptop – It's required by UNC that each student has a laptop. Wifi is pretty much everywhere (sometimes hard to get it in your dorm room), and there are printers in all the dorms and libraries.

I Haven't Had Any – I am concerned about finding and internship here, but I have a friend in a organization that helps students find them. Also, I hope to have it a paid internship and with the field I am interested in.

Parking is vary limited, especially for visitors on weekdays. It is a struggle even to find parking on Franklin Street. The permits are decently expensive, and I saw cops walking away putting tickets on cars on Stadium drive.

Great Atmosphere – The campus may be large and the walk from south campus up to class is a little daunting sometimes, but otherwise its great! The cafeterias are better compared to other larger universities, and the atmosphere is inspiring for learning and friendliness. The meal plans might not be worth it because I don't eat $10 worth of food when I swipe into the dining hall, but the other option on the flex system are great. Also, There is almost always something fun to do on the weekends.

Tarheel Born and Bred – Tarheels are crazy about basketball. Our team is one of the best in the country and when is basketball season you can feel it in the atmosphere. It is a log of fun, there are also a lot of other sports like soccer, lacrosse and water polo.

Some Awesome Dorms – There are really nice dorms for both freshmen and upperclassmen. A lot of them are new and renovated both in north and south campus. The campus is beautiful and the housing process is pretty easy.

Carolina in the Spring - There Is No Place I'd Rather Be – Winters can be cold, but it's worth the wait for Spring. #HEAVEN

Campus Parking – Expensive and difficult to obtain. Cars are a hassle at Chapel Hill.

Gyms and Green Areas – They are really good, there are two gyms and 3 pools. There are also plenty of green areas for people to sit and relax. Also a lot of libraries and places to study in peace. Everything is very clean

These places get full so quickly. Very difficult to find seating at peak hours.

Get a lot of respect. But you have to work constantly to stay ahead.

Varies at Best – Some of the professors in the Biology department are obviously experts in their fields, but this doesn't make them great instructors. There is not enough consistency in the quality or grading of the Biology classes offered. One section of a class could have an amazing professor, while the other section's professor is incompetent at his job during the same semester

Well Informed – UNC is very adamant about providing information about drug and safety concerns here on campus as well as provide numerous services for that purpose.

Few Complaints Here! My experience with off-campus housing has been pretty good. My only complaint is that I ended up living just a little farther away than I originally wanted to (it's not walking distance), but I'm still located on a bus line and I've used the time on the ride over to either cram in some studying or last minute reading, or even a fun, non-school-related book. Pretty much everyone I know has been able to find reasonably-priced living situations - apartments or houses - either within walking distance or on a bus line.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
