I'd say UNC gets to decide who "deserves" to study at their own University.

Sounds like an angry out of state student who was denied.

Theres a lot of people who deserve to study at unc, and definitely including the ones accepted. Its just those accepted are more fortunate and unc has limited space so dont be hating brother. The admissions office spends months getting to know thousands of applicants so they know who deserves to be there not you.

Amen gimble20, preach your wise words.

Just because someone doesn't seem as intelligent as you are doesn't mean you're more deserving of the amazing opportunity to attend UNC than they are... You should humble yourself.

Simply put, UNC is all about academics. Students who excel here don't try to take shortcuts. The school itself boasts some of the best facilities in the country as well as the academic talent to match it. Furthermore, graduates from Carolina are top notch, with 12 prior Pulitzer Prize winners, one president, and many Nobel laureates. Professors at Carolina have high distinctions and have received awards for their contributions in their respective fields of study.

One of the best things about UNC is its sense of community in that professors are largely accessible to students. All professors on campus have office hours and will work with students to make appointments should there be a conflict. Some professors also try to meet with individual students for coffee or a meal to discuss class topics. In lower-level courses with larger class sizes, TAs are also made available to students for questions. Another great thing about Carolina academics is the sheer number of resources available to students in a rut, such as tutoring and the Writing Center, where staff will proofread those nasty term papers that are the bane of any collegiate's semester.
